PRINCIPLES OF FAITH
The Sermon on the Mount spoken by Jesus late in His
personal ministry, is probably the most important system of
ethics the world will ever know. It is the summation of all
the basic things that Jesus taught while on earth. On these
PRINCIPLES the whole system of Christianity rests. In the
first half of the sermon, Jesus astounded the scholars of His
day, showing His teachings superseded the righteousness
of the law of Moses. The attitude behind the action is dealt
with in Jesus’ teaching. Now, in the second half of the ser-
mon, Jesus shows us the true values of life, and concludes
with standards of conduct characteristic of the life of a
Christian.
PRINCIPLE: JESUS' TEACHING REVERSES WHAT IS
COMMONLY RELIEVED TO BE THE HAPPIEST AND MOST
FRUITFUL WAY OP LIPR.
