A Precious Treasure
Dunng the funeral service of a faithful servant of the
Lord the people who passed by the casket noticed that
a Bible had been placed m her hands This was al-
together fitting because the Bible was her most precious
treasure She loved the Word of God. and sought to live
according to its teaching Every day she spent some
time reading her Bible Each of us should treasure this
valuable gift from our Heavenly Father
The Word of God instructs us as to how we can pro-
cure salvation "Believe on the Lord Jesus Chnst. and
thou shalt be saved ”
Our Bible tells us of the Divine sacnfice for our
redemption "God—gave His only begotton Son. that
whosoever believeth m Him should not pensh, but have
everlasting life."
God's Word informs us of our responsibility m this Di-
vine relationship ‘ If any man wit come after Me. let him
deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me ”
The Holy Book emphasizes our priorities as a believer
‘ ‘ Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with at thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with at thy mind. Thou shaft love
thy neighbor as thyself ”
His Word outlines our life 's work on earth "Go ye
therefore, and teach at nations, baptizing them in the
name of ffre Father, and of the Son. and of the Holy
Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: and. to, / am with you always,
even unto the end of the world "
