Go tell city hall
To the editor:
Aren't we having some unusual
weather? Any weather at all beats
the drought we had this past sum-
mer.
It looks like spring has sprung as
nature scurries around us and invites
us to join in on the hope that fae
new season brings. I’ve been busy
in die lawn and garden mid trying to
do the same. The flowers are so
beautiful and the redbud and dog-
wood trees as well as the azaleas
and spirea have been so profuse this
year.
I do my best to set a good exam-
ple and try to be a positive influ-
ence in my neighborhood only to
be sidelined by the display of gar-
bage by those who have moved in
around me. Oh well, those who live
in trash are subject to being called
trash and (hey do not realize that in-
stead of downgrading the neighbor-
hood's virtue, they are downgrading
the public's view of them. It is sad
to think that these people are put
into the position of being good role
models and this is the disgrace they
portray. Instead of being good mi-
nority representatives they are a
disgrace to (heir race.
How can people like this be
moved into our neighborhoods and
trash it out and exhibit the height
of laziness and disrespect for their
fellow man? I am to the imderstand-,
ing that the City of Livingston and
the housing authority do not care
about our quality of life, they only
want to possess us. When they db
not accomplish the goal of possess-
ing us, they simply try to disgrace
us by moving their degenerates into
our neighborhoods thinking we
will give up. I don’t think so.
These people arc going to have to
shape up or ship out. I am not
cleaning up their trash, so they can
expect me to.
I encourage uiyonc to come axi
see bow we me farced to live in
trash while the City of Livingston
looks the other way. I will not
clean up their gartage, but 1 will
speak up for the disgrace as the beer
cans fly and the trash builds up and
someone gets a pat on fae back far
doing nothing and trashing out (heir
yards and our neighborhoods.
I own my borne and am proud to
be an advocate for strong environ-
mental and health standards but it is
not up to me to dean up Living-
ston and enforce the ordinances that
insure us a decent quality of life. A
new recreational season is upon os
and people arc traveling around fae
red lights and coming down what is
now called Martin Luther King and
to try and keep Mk

just don't seem to care or know

enforcement is the answer, as civic
pride seems to have left there peo-
ple at a loss. They haven’t learned
anything except that we will dean
