Wedded to Our Superstitions.
We are fast wedded to our su-
perstitions and our ancient cus-
toms, some of which lead us to
do things in direct opposition to
what we pretend to believe. We
say that we are Christians; that
this brief earthly life is but a
transitory preparation for the
eternal life beyond the grave.
We talk of a future state, of
love for Christ and faith in God,
and sing sweet songs of hallelu-
jah and ecstatic bliss, when mor-
tality shall have put on immor-
tality, and death shall be swal-
lowed up in victory. We goto
CONSTIPATION..
Its Cause and How to Cure It.
Eat too much,
Stomach feels bloated,
All out of sorts,
Don’t feel like work to-day. Guess
t’ve another case of biliousness.
“Take anything?”
“Yes; some pills, but no results; sup*
pose I’m getting ironclad. Sometimes 1
double the dose, then they physic me so
hard I’m too weak to work. Think I’ll
have to try something new.”
“Ever try Prickly Ash Bitters?”
“No; I’ve heard a good deal about it,
but never tried it.”
“Well, you’ll be pleased with the re
suits.”
The purgative action of Prickly Ash
Bitters not only removes hard impac-
tions, gas and impurities, but it strength-
ens the muscular action of the bowels
which causes them to move regularly.
Prickly Ash Bitters is a bowel tonic
and regulator in the truest sense. It
promotes daily evacuations, establishes
healthy movements and is the besl
known remedy for disordered digestion,
flatulence and a constipated habit.
D. M. Blackwelder, of Litchfield, 111., says
the Litchfield News: “lam perfectly willing, in
lact glad to testify to the value of Prickly Ash
Bitters as a medicine for the kidneys, stomach
bowels. I have used it whenever I needed
anything of the kind for the last fifteen yean
and it has always given satisfaction..”

Him who holds us in the hollow' life after this one here is ended,
of His hand. And yet, when our
loved ones die, and their dear
faces are hid from us by the dull
low mounds, out in the quiet
cemetery, we give the lie to all
our pretended faith in immor-
tality by draping our bodies in
somber black, and mourning as
if the tongueless dust and silent
tomb were the final resting place
of our beloved. If we believe
the sweet, consoling story of the
resurrection, let’s do our part to
show the world that we practice
our faith and firmly tell them
that the one whom God has call-
ed home has gone above to a
higher labor in the evolution of
the great eternal plan. Let us
leave off the badge of mourning.
Put no crepe upon the door, let
no tears be shown the public,
but with a firm conviction in the
promise of the Divine Redeemer,
go forward earnestly with the
work assigned us. Who will be-
lieve us when we parade our
sorrows and mourn as though
this earth were all there is of
life, and weep and wail and droop
our heads in anguish and despair?
If Christ has told the truth, there
is n o death. The pale, cold
cheeks, the folded hands upon
’the throbless breast, the tight-
shut eyes, the pallid brow, the
nerveless pulse are but the evi-
dences of another form of life
beyond the sun, moon and stars,
where there are no earthly sor-
rows, no such thing as woe, and
souls are happy in the benedic-
tion of the presence of God Him-
self. Mourning costumes are
heathen relics. They leave a
feeling in the human mind that
those who flaunt the funeral
garb must doubt the goodness
and the promises of Christ. If
there be mourning, let it be
within the heart, a simple sad-
ness because of separation for a

have spoken too bluntly and these
plain words may wound the feel-

wearing mourning for dear rela-

the custom of the times. There
is no intent here to offend, for
the writer fully realizes that it
is natural for the human heart to

the shackles of an ancient cus-

Grove.
People are slow sometimes
to recognize true merit, and
they cannot be blamed, for so
many have been humbugged in
the past. The experience of
hundreds of Honey Grove resi-
dents, expressed publicly through
newspapers and other sources,
places Doan’s Kidney Pills on a
firm foundation here.
R. E. Grogan, blacksmith, N.
Fifth St., Honey Grove, Texas,
says: “From the results I re-
ceived from Doan’s Kidney Pills,
I am justified in recommending
them to anyone afflicted with dis-
ordered kidneys. I am pleased
to confirm the public testimonial
I gave in their favor some years
ago. My kidneys were disorder-
ed as the result of a strain on my
back from my work. The use
of one box of Doan’s Kidney
Pills corrected my trouble. Now
and then, when I feel that my
kidneys are not working proper-
ly, I at once take Doan’s Kid-
ney Pills for a few days and
they do their work quickly and
well.”

Let Us Discuss.
Let us sit a while discussing
politics, O friend of mine! Since
the whole world seems-a-fussing,
it is time we fell in line! Let us
give the trusts a touching, since
they’re cussed on every hand;
let’s thrash around denouncing
things we1 do not understand.
Let our feryent, tireless tooting
in the public ear be dinned; they
are best at elocuting who are
best supplied with wind, and the
less we know of topics all the
louder should we talk, till from
Greenland to the tropics we shall
give the world a shock. Let’s
neglect our work and linger in
the clanging market place, point-
ing aye a scornful finger at the
statesmen in the race; saying
bitter things of strangers who
have never done us any Jiarm,
pointing out the nation’s dangers
viewing ever with alarm. Let
us talk and keep on talkin’ till
we chance to disagree, when I’ll
try to knock your block in, and
you’ll clamber over me; let us
keep our lungs in focus like a
pair of dippy dubs, till the peel-
ers come and soak us with their
lignum vitae clubs.—Walt Ma-
son.
ECZEMA? TRY ZEMO.
“Cardui Cured Me”
**
For nearly ten years, at different times, Mrs. Mary Jinks
of Treadway, Tenn., suffered with womanly troubles. She
says: “At last, I took down and thought I would die. I
could not sleep. I couldn’t eat. I had pains all over. The
doctors gave me up. I read that Cardui had helped so
many, and I began to take it, and it cured me. Cardui
saved my life! Now, I can do anything.”
CAR DU I Wo man's Tonic
If you are weak, tired, worn-out, or suffer from any of
the pains peculiar to weak women, such as headache,
backache, dragging-down feelings, pains in arm, side, hip
or limbs, and other symptoms of womanly trouble, you
should try Cardui, the woman’s tonic. Prepared from per- -
fectly harmless, vegetable ingredients, Cardui is the best
remedy for you to use, as it can do you nothing but good.
It contains no dangerous drugs. It has no bad after-effects.
Ask your druggist. He sells and recommends Cardui.

one he summons from his earthly
labor, we should meet the mes-
senger with faith in God, and re-
member that our duties are to
the living; the dead ones are one

the hill that leads to the final
destiny of mankind; that when
we are eventually called away,
we will meet again the loved

A MEDICINE AS GOOD
AS YOUR MONEY.
Money Promptly Refunded if Dod-
son’s Liver-Tone Fails to Take
Place of Calomel.
The Honey Grove Pharmacy
sells Dodson’s Liver-Tone as a
perfect substitute for calomel.
If you try a bottle and find that
it is not just as sure in its action
as calomel and at the same time
gentler and without the bad
after-effects of calomel, please
call and get your money back.
It will be given you promptly.
Dodson’s Liver-Tone is a vegeta-
ble liquid with a pleasant taste,
that livens up the liver, mildly
but surely, instead of whipping
it into action as the strong chemi-
cal calomel does. It is used by
both children and grown-ups for
constipation and inactive liver.
That is why the Honey Grove
Pharmacy is willing to guarantee
it absolutely, not with another
bottle, but with your money back.
Isn’t a medicine with a guaran-
tee like this worth a trial?
