incoming mixed train from Fort
Lavaca yesterday near Womack
station delayed it and the regular
from Houston several hours, both
arriving here about 10 o’clock last j

turned while both the baggage car
and coach left the track and sunk
into the mud. “knee deep,” so to
express it. The running gear of
each were entirely inundated in the
mud ind water near the track and
work replacing them was both diffi-
cult and unpleasant. If the* acci-
dent had occurred a hundred feet

probable somebody would have
gotten hurt as the track was
Elevated ^either way, but
where it did happen the
ground was level and the track
level; a broken rail caused the ac-
cident. ^
