ledonian which shews the depth of water to be from
six to eight feet instead of 18 inches as heretofore
asserted by some.
We the undersigned state that' in passing the
shoal at the Jower corner of Mr. T. J. Alsberry's
land we found between six and 7 feet water in
the shallowest part and the channel fortv or fiftv

rious account of the finding of a balloon on the coast of Ireland.
The balloon was sent up on the English shore with a cat for an
