Aransas Pass Saturday after-
noon, March 9, at the Baptist

IN TAFT SATURDAY
The marriage of Miss Nell
Harris and Woodrow Crumpton
of this city was solemnized Sat-
urday night, March 9, at the
Baptist parsonage in Taft. The
Rev. W. N. Roberts, pastor offi-
ciated.
The bride’s dress was pink
and her accessories were black.
**he is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Harris of this city.
She received her education in
the local schools, graduating
from the high school in 1938,
and far the past three years she
has been employed by the First
Stale Bank.
Mr. Crumpton is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Crumpton of
Taft and came to Aransas Pass
several months ago to enter the
employ of the Pick and Pay
Grocery.
The couple are at homo to
their many friends in the W. H.
Tayicr apartment.

CIRCLE MEETS
Mrs. Gene Nelson was hostess
tj Circle I of the Presbyterian
Woman's Auxiliary when it
convened Monday for the last
meeting of the church year. The
circles will be re-drawn and
circle chairmen will be appoint-
ed at the auxiliary meeting on
Monday. March 25.
Mrs. Robert McCampbell gave
devotional from the book. of
John 21:15-22, taking as her
subject, “Feed My Sheep.” Mrs.
F. M. Davis was program lead-
er, heading a round table dis-
cussion of “Our Church in Ac-
tion.”

at the next meeting of the Wo-
man’s Club next Thursday,
March 21, at 2:30 o’clock at the
club building, it was announced
by Mrs. H. H. Somnitz.
Each member is to answer the
roll call with the name of her
favorite artist, whether modem
or old master, -and each mem-
ber is also requested to bring her
favorite art object for display at
the club. The meeting will also
be a social and each member
may invite a guest to accompany
her.

TO INSTITUTE
Mrs. J. R. Barry of this citx
last Wednesday attended the
meeting of the Fifth ‘.District In-
stitute of Texas Club Women
held in McAllen. As fifth dis-
trict chairman of institutes and
forums on parliamentary law,
she spoke on parliamentary pro-
cedure on both morning and af-
ternoon programs.
Mrs. Joseph Perkins of East- j
land, state president of the fed-
eration, and Mrs. J. T. Vance of
Refugio, fifth district president,
were special guests.
Joe Payne of Corpus Christi,
who underwent an appendec-
tomy in San Antonio about
three weeks ago, is recuperating
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.
E. Tedford before returning to
his home in Corpus.

and Mrs. Lyle McCaleb spent
the week end in Fort Worth vis-
iting relatives. They were ac-
companied as far as San Anton-
