Local Artist Jammey Huggins to be
Featured in Sculpture Show in Ruidoso

Seminole sculptor
Jammey Huggins is one of five
artists to be featured at the first-
ever Studio W Sculpture Show
and Reception in Ruidoso, New
Mexico. The studio is located at
1311 Mechem Drive in Ruidoso.
The show is scheduled
this Saturday and Sunday, Sep-
tember 13 and 14, from 1-4 p.m.
(MDT) both days.
Refreshments will be
served and no admission is re-
quired.
Mrs. Huggins, art instruc-
tor at Seminole High School, holds
a degree in art from Texas Tech
University, with graduate studies
at the University of Texas in Aus-
tin and Manhattan College in New
York City.
She has exhibited her
work in a number of prominent
museums and her work can be

seen at the Loveland Sculpture In-
vitational Show in Loveland, Col-
orado. Her bronze, “Full Circle,”
recently won ‘Best of Show’ at
the annual American Plains Artists
show at the Ellen Noel Museum in
Odessa. Her work can be found in
private and corporate collections
throughout the United States.

first annual Sculpture Show and Reception at Studio W in Ruidoso, New
Mexico.

Needed
The Seminole Area
Chamber of Commerce is seeking
nominations for this year’s
recipients of the Citizen of the
Year and Keen-Ager of the Year
awards.
Past recipients are not
eligible and to be eligible for the
Keen-Ager award, the nominee
must be 65 years of age or older.
Nominations are due in
writing by October 3 at 5 p.m. to
the chamber office, 119 Southeast
Avenue B, they may be mailed to P.O.
Box 1198 or faxed to 758-6698.

Tepee Distribution
The 2003 Seminole High
School yearbook, The Tepee, will be
distributed Thursday, September 11,
from 10-11 a.m. at the high school
activity center.

Authors To Sign
Book
Three authors, including
Mary Ruthart of Seminole, will
sign copies of their new book,
Calicheville, at the Gaines County
.Library in Seminole Tuesday,
September 16.
The signing will take place from
11 a.m.-2 p.m.
In addition to the local author,
her co-authors, Nell Shaver of
Crosbyton and Dorthy Stephenson
of Lubbock, will be in attendance.
All interested persons are
encouraged to attend.

the total tax revenues of
