Seeds from the Sower
By Michael A. Guido
When your temper gets the best of you, it
reveals the worst of you. And getting revenge
is something you do to the other person, to
make yourself feel worse.
So our Lord said, “If someone strikes you on
the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
That troubled Sir Walter Scott until he had
an experience with a stray dog.
He threw a rock at him to chase the dog
away. But he hit him and broke his leg.
Instead of attacking him, the dog came
limping to him and licked his hand.
“That dog preached a sermon to me,”
said Sir Walter, “as few ministers have ever
presented it.”
Don’t strike back. Love back.
