Charleston News
_By Vicki Vasco_
The sun is shining in the East End, and
everything is lovely, but it is very cold.
Craig & Emily Regan visited Don &
Billie Young an Marti last weekend.
They celebrated Emily (Black) Regan’s
birthday. I saw Marti riding in the car
with the Sheriff and his wife leading
the Enloe Christmas Parade Saturday.
Enloe had a good Christmas parade
with lots of floats, horses, tractors,
antique cars, bicycles, four wheelers,
etc. After the parade, they had a pot
luck dinner at the community center.
Charleston had a good Parade Saturday,
too. We had floats, horses, dogs, 4
wheelers, antique lawn mowers, antique
cars, antique tractors, antique pickups,
even an antique county truck. Santa
rode on a fire truck and threw candy
to the crowd. The parade went to the
community center where we had a picnic
lunch. The sheriff and his wife led the
Charleston Parade also. When we got
the community center, Santa talked
to the children and handed out candy.
Some mothers and grandmothers took
pictures of Santa holding their children
and grandchildren. We had a good time.
After the parade in Charleston, I
went to the Cooper High School to
a bazaar that the different churches
in the area were having. It was good.
Chris France was our candle lighter at
the Methodist Sunday. He was also an
usher, plus Drew Regan, Colen Ingram,
Heather Murray, the little Taylor girl,
and Jaydan Stagg. Ashley Preas was
the children’s Sunday School teacher,
and she had the Children’s sermon. The
Morgans had the Advent Service. Our
Choir sang “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”
Next Sunday we will be having
the Children’s Christmas Program.

from Oklahoma City, Beaumont, and all
over the place came for that. Her brother
Noland Chandler and his wife Debbie
came. Her cousin Joy (Boyd) and her
husband came. Her cousin Linda (Boyd)
came. Everyone had a wonderful time.
The Church was decorated beautifully.
Monday, 18 ladies attended the Delta
County Extension Club’s meeting
for their treat-tasting luncheon and
meeting. Lyn Alley read a beautiful
Christmas story at that meeting.

Tuesday, six Delta County Red

and Grapevine to the Gaylord Texas to
see the Charlie Brown Ice Sculptures,
to have lunch, to shop, and see a play.
The group had a wonderful time.
