Cookie orders now being taken
The Girl Scout Cookie
Program began in Northeast
Texas on January 8 and goes
through the end of March. The
Girl Scout Cookie Program is
an integral part of Girl Scouts’
Business and Economic
Literacy initiative for girls in
grades K through 12. What
started out as a bake sale has
turned into a sophisticated
leadership program where
girls learn valuable life
and business skills: goal
setting, public speaking,
teamwork, brand awareness,
responsibility, money and
time management, financial
literacy and grassroots
entrepreneurship in its finest
form.
The entire Girl Scout
Troop sets a goal and follows
a plan leading toward that
goal. Girl Scout Troops use
funds from the Girl Scout
Cookie Program to fund
service projects, exciting
educational field trips, and
other leadership activities.
Whether girls are dreaming
of becoming a doctor, teacher,
businesswoman, president
of the PTA, or superstar
athlete, the Girl Scout Cookie
Program gives them the self-
esteem they need to reach for
the stars.

Girl Scouts is a “girl-led”
organization where girls
develop their leadership
potential through activities
that enable them to discover
their values, skills, and the
world around them; connect
with others in a multicultural
environment; and take action
to make a difference in the
world. For information on how

Seeds from the Sower
By Michael A. Guido
A sign on wrecked car
amused me. Above the bent
fender were the words: “My
wife did it.”
And that’s what Adam said.
In order to excuse himself,
he had only the woman, the
serpent, and the Lord. So he
said, “The woman.”
But today we have family,
society or poverty.
But God puts the blame
where it belongs - on the
sinner.
With Him there’s only
one way to find forgiveness.
Confess, “I did it. I’m to
blame. Forgive me.”
He’ll cleanse you, convert
you and make you more than
a conqueror. And you’ll be
able to say, “I can do anything
God ask me to with the help
of Christ who gives me the
strength and power.”

Truth of God
John 14:1-14
l”Do not let your hearts be
troubled. Trust in God; trust
also in me. 2In my Father’s
house are many rooms; if it
were not so, I would have
told you. I am going there to
prepare a place for you. 3And
if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come back and
take you to be with me that
you also may be where I am.
4You know the way to the
place where I am going.”
5Thomas said to him,
“Lord, we don’t know where
you are going, so how can
we know the way?” 6Jesus
answered, “I am the way and
the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except
through me. 7If you really
knew me, you would know
my Father as well. From now
on, you do know him and
have seen him.” 8Philip said,
“Lord, show us the Father and
that will be enough for us.”
9Jesus answered: “Don’t you
know me, Philip, even after I
have been among you such a
long time? Anyone who has
seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us
the Father’? lODon’t you
believe that I am in the Father,
and that the Father is in me?
The words I say to you are
not just my own. Rather, it is
the Father, living in me, who
is doing his work. llBelieve
me when I say that I am in
the Father and the Father is
in me; or at least believe on

Bonnie Hobbs Announces Candidacy
I am Bonnie Hobbs and I am
announcing my candidacy for the
office of County Treasurer on the
Republican platform.
I have 20 years of experience
working for the Department of
Defense Finance and Accounting,
Department of the Army, Ocean
Spray and Sears Credit Center.
During that time, I performed
all facets of payroll, accounting,
bookkeeping, account audits, reconciled bank statements
and duties of an office administrator. In addition, I adapted,
learned and mastered numerous software programs that were
job specific.
My work history has given me the opportunity to work
with all levels of management and staff. I am a proactive,
organized and analytical person who can work independently
as well as with others.
Earlier this year from January to June, I volunteered to
work with the Delta County Treasurer’s office. In July, an
employee retired and I filled the vacancy until October. I
am familiar with the treasurer’s accounting program and the
many duties of this office.
I will strive to ensure that my work is accurate and timely by
following any necessary county, state and federal regulations
that are required for the County Treasurer position.
I want to thank each of you for your support and vote.
