Project Description
Lamar Electric Cooperative
proposes to design and con-
struct a single circuit, single
pole 138 kV transmission
line from the proposed Enloe
138 kV Switch Station, near
the existing Cooper-Enloe
Substation to the proposed
Lake Creek Substation and
TransCanada’s Pump Station
36. The project wifi begin at
the proposed Enloe 138 kV
Switch Station. The proposed
transmission line wifi tap
Oncor’s Commerce-to-Coo-
per-to-Paris transmission line
and precede easterly to a new
proposed Lake Creek Substa-
tion. The proposed transmis-
sion line wifi be approximate-
ly 7.2 miles in length and wifi
require a 100-foot wide right-
of-way (50 feet on each side
of the centerline).
Proposed Routes
LEC considered several al-
ternative routes for this
transmission line initiated
by TransCanada’s Pipeline
Pump Station 36 and the new
proposed (LEC) Lake Creek
Substation. LEC has acquired
landowner permission for the
“LEC Preferred Landowner
Solution Route” and has se-
cured land for this purpose,
subject to the approval of the
PUC.
LEC is obliged to serve a pro-
posed large pipeline pump-
ing station. LEC is equally
obliged to serve the needs and
wishes of their membership,
along with the community,
and select a route that is least
invasive to the public and the
environment. The estimated
cost of the project is $7.5 mil-
lion. The cost of the project
wifi be paid 100% by Trans-
Canada Pipeline Project.
All directly affected property
owners have been contacted,
are in agreement, and land has
been purchased at no mon-
etary expense to the public or
Cooperative membership.
