We have been getting lots
and lots of good rain. In fact,
we have been getting so much
rain in the East End, we are
about to wash away. We have
almost had a flood.
The Midway/Delmar
School Reunion is Saturday,
October 10, from 10 until 2,
at the Lamar Fairgrounds,
Building B. Bring a covered
dish.
Katie Malone and Shirley
Smith will be working at
the Delta County Historical
Patterson Museum in Cooper,
Saturday, October 10. Go by
and visit with them and tour
the museum that day.
Wednesday, October 7
is the day for the delicious
luncheon at the Delta County
Library. Jan Carter and her
students are preparing chicken
spaghetti and chocolate cake.
I am sure it will be delicious,
as it always is.
The Longs prepared
a spaghetti dinner at the
Methodist Sunday that was
delicious. It was sponsored
by the youth of the church as
a Lord’s Acre Project. Lynne
Long had an accident on her
4-wheeler one day last week.
She is feeling a little better
now.
Jon Scott and Delores
Jackson sang a beautiful song
at church Sunday, “Take Our
Bread.” Rev. Mack’s children
sermon was titled, “The Bread
of Life.” Billy Watson helped
Mack with communion. The
Administrative Council is
meeting at 6:30 Wednesday
evening. Our Lord’s Acre
will be Saturday, October 24.
Bring Garage Sale items to
the Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Melba Jones called
Saturday to remind me of the
Cooper UMC Lord’s Acre,
which was Saturday, October
3.
The Paris Fair was great
this year. Gene Watson and
his band were there Thursday
night. They were great, just
like always. I saw lots of Delta
County people at the Senior
Citizen Day at the fair.
TheDeltaUnitedMethodist
Women met at the Lake Creek
Methodist Church Thursday
evening. Carol Beth King
had the program. She did an
outstanding job.
The Baptist Men are
coming to East Delta this
week. They will be working

from Monday, October 12 to
October 23. The women will
be preparing meals for them.
If you would like to help, just
let them know.
The Youth at East Delta
are having a Youth Day Out
on Saturday, October 10.
The boys are going to play
paintball and the girls are
going to the Frisco Mall. East
Delta is having their annual
fish fry, October 17, at 6 p.m.
at the East Delta Community
Center.
The Paris Study Club met at
Magels for lunch Thursday.
Katie Malone, Julie Swaim
and Jalie Swaim were in
Dallas one day last week for
the State Fair. They attended
the musical, “Mary Poppins,”
while there.
