Assembly Of God
Fine Linen
Luke 16:19-31
19”There was a rich man
who was dressed in purple and
fine linen and lived in luxury
every day. 20At his gate was
laid a beggar named Lazarus,
covered with sores 2land
longing to eat what fell from
the rich man’s table. Even
the dogs came and licked his
sores. 22”The time came when
the beggar died and the angels
carried him to Abraham’s
side. The rich man also died
and was buried. 23In hell,
where he was in torment, he
looked up and saw Abraham
far away, with Lazarus by
his side. 24So he called to
him, ‘Father Abraham, have
pity on me and send Lazarus
to dip the tip of his finger in
water and cool my tongue,
because I am in agony in
this fire.’ 25”But Abraham
replied, ‘Son, remember that
in your lifetime you received
your good things, while
Lazarus received bad things,
but now he is comforted here
and you are in agony.26And
besides all this, between us
and you a great chasm has
been fixed, so that those who
want to go from here to you
cannot, nor can anyone cross
over from there to us.’ 27”He
answered, ‘Then I beg you,
father, send Lazarus to my
father’s house, 28for I have
five brothers. Let him warn
them, so that they will not also
come to this place of torment.
29”Abraham replied, ‘They
have Moses and the Prophets;
let them listen to them.’ 30”
‘No, father Abraham,’ he
said, ‘but if someone from the
dead goes to them, they will
repent.’ 31”He said to him,
‘If they do not listen to Moses
and the Prophets, they will not
be convinced even if someone
rises from the dead.’ “
“This week SON Light”
Everyone should give
careful consideration to the
gospel and trust the Lord as
Savior in order to escape the
torments of Hell. Because of
the severity of these torments,
no one should assume they
are going to heaven, unless
they have personally trusted
Christ as Savior.

Seeds from the Sower
By Michael A. Guido
A little girl said, “Mom, I’m
not going to pray anymore.”
“Why not?” she asked.
“Because,” said the girl,
“I didn’t say my prayers for
three nights and nothing bad
happened.”
Is prayer a farce or a
force?
It’s a force. Moses prayed,
and the Red Sea’s waters
parted to make a dry highway
for the children of God.
Joshua prayed, and the walls
of Jericho fell down flat.
Elijah prayed, and he locked
and unlocked the rain doors
of heaven. Hezekiah prayed,
and the Lord lengthened his
life by fifteen years. Paul and
Silas prayed, and the prison
doors opened.
The Bible say, “The
effectual fervent prayer
of righteous man availeth
much.”
To The Voters Of Delta County
I would like to announce my candidacy for the office of
County Treasurer. When Ms. London resigned the position in
November, the Commissioner’s Court appointed me to finish
her term. For those of you who may not know, I was County
Treasurer for the previous twenty years. I have the experience
and qualifications to be an effective County Treasurer.
During the twenty years that I was in office, reports, payroll,
payroll deposits, and accounts payable were done in a timely
manner.
It is great to be back. I enjoy meeting the people and will
continue to do an efficient and timely job. Let me take this
opportunity to ask for your support in the upcoming primary
election March 2, 2010.
