Bulldogs Drop
Two Straight
in District
By Chris Gall
Sportswriter
The Varsity Boys faced off
against the Alba-Golden
Panthers at home on Friday.
It was a very low scoring
game in which Alba-Golden
took home a victory. Over the
holiday break the Bulldogs
had a minor breakdown
loosing head basketball
coach Shawn Griffin and then
shortly afterwards starting
senior guard Keyon Walker
was removed from the team
due to issues off the court.
The mid-season changes are
starting to show effect having
lost two district games in a
row with a district record 1-
2. Coach Patrick Barron has
taken over the basketball head
coaching position. Barron
has previously coach the
Junior Varsity the past few
seasons and is someone the
boys are very familiar with.
Although it was low scoring
game the Bulldogs stayed in
it throughout all four quarters
never giving Alba-Golden
much of a lead. In the final
minuets of the fourth quarter
Alba-Golden made some
crucial shots allowing them
to hang on and win 36-32.

Dogettes
Win Big
Over
Alba-
Golden
By Chris Gall
Sportswriter
The Cooper Bulldogettes were
at home in their 5th district
game on Friday January 8
against the Alba-Golden
Lady Panthers. It was a
close played game in the first
quarter, Elizabeth Williams
gave the Dogettes the lead
with a 3-pointer at the buzzer
10-7. It remained a somewhat
even battle through the second
quarter, however the Dogettes
went into halftime with a five
point cushion. The Dogettes
defense turned it up the
second half putting full court
pressure on Alba-Golden
which created turnovers that
led to points for Cooper. They
slowly pulled away going up
32-23 at the end of the third
and ran away with the game
In the fourth quarter capturing
their second district win 46-
33. Rami Shaffer had a game
high 21 pts and pulled down 8
reb, Amber Adams had 12 pts
7 reb, and Mariah Williams
added 5 pts. The Girls now
hold a 9-12 overall record, 2-
3 in district.
Have a
great season
