All-stars g blonde
The Delta County All-Stars boys baseball team show off their third place medals and team
spirit, as they all dted their hair blonde for the state tournament.
Before I begin, I would like to ask for your
help. If you know something of interest to
the Klondike community, please give me a
call at 903-886-2737. We want to have items
of interest to everyone in the area and need
your input to stay current.
Nelma Dodd spent two or three days last
week babysitting her great-grandchildren
Emma and Sam. (I think Sam really kept her
running, even with Emma’s help!)
Phillip and Allie Stone had Louise visit on
Sunday for their family Bible study. Son
Glenn was in two or three times this week.
Sharon was in and out almost daily.
Patricia Blundell had Ricky, Christine and
the boys visit with her on Thursday. (They
brought watermelon!) Patricia also visited
with Stella Martin and Billy on Saturday.
Darlene and Tommy were there from
Winnsboro. Patricia heard from her daughters
this week.
George and Pearl Foster enjoyed visiting
with granddaughter Jennifer who was home
from college this weekend.
Jerry and Faye Robnett have son David and
grandson Hunter visiting from California this
week.
Mable Wheat attended a bridal shower for
a friend this week. She also enjoyed visiting
with her grandson from Shreveport, LA who
was in town helping his parents paint their
house. He did take a break long enough to
visit the drugstore and get a milkshake!
Wanda Helms said they had a non-specific
family gathering on Sunday — no birthday,
no anniversary, just a family lunch. Neal,
Kim, Sarah, Houston, Amber, Jacob and
their baby were there as was Wanda’s brother
James. James had been fishing and brought
the “extras”, but Houston had to clean them!
Wanda also attended a Ladies Meeting on
Saturday at the church. They had an old
fashioned church picnic with fried chicken,
potato salad, watermelon, and lots of cakes.
Stella Martin had her niece from Winnsboro
visit on Saturday. Darlene and Tommy Moore
and their granddaughter Cory came for the
afternoon. Joining the group for a good visit
were Billy and Patricia.
On Friday and Saturday, Larry George,
Misty, Travis, Tanner and Bayleigh attended
the Cooper Rodeo. On Sunday they were
having a birthday party for Bayleigh. Family
and friends gathered to celebrate her fourth
birthday with swimming and the slip-and-
slide. (What a great way to beat the heat!)
The Delta County All-stars boy’s baseball team
finished 3rd place in the State Tournament. We
lost our first game 3-2 to Pittsburgh then we
beat Union Grove 11-1, Howe 6-1, Anna 8-6
and Pittsburgh 3-1 and then lost to Pittsburgh
again 7-1. Pittsburgh came in 1 st,Gladwater
2nd Cooper 3rd. The Cooper team played great
defense and the pitching of Colby Early, Kasey
Leatherwood, Kolton Leatherwood, Austen
Blakley and Jaden McGraw was outstanding
for the whole tournament. All the boys dyed
their hair blonde for the tournament as a sign
of team unity and team spirit.
