Enloe Christmas
parade this
Saturday
Over the river and through the woods ... makes no difference
how you get here, just get here! Enloe is the place, and
Saturday, December 11 is the date - for the annual Christmas
Parade! Parade participants are sure to please, as is their
custom. Crowds are always entertained by the assortment
of floats, and this year, the Enloe Methodist Church plans to
serve coffee and hot chocolate to parade watchers.
All who enjoy a good parade are invited to be a part of this
annual event. Whether you decide to be in the parade, or
watch, you’ll have a great time! Floats of all sorts, sizes, and
shapes make this a ‘not to be missed’ occasion. Following the
parade, the Enloe Community Center hosts a potluck supper
and Christmas party. Bring your favorite dish, and enjoy this
fine food and fellowship. For the gift exchange, men bring
a man’s gift, women bring a woman’s gift, and parents bring
gifts for their children. There is always activity planned for
the children, and Santa is sure to make an appearance!
Parade lineup is at 4 p.m. on the lot across from the community
center. Parade begins at 4:30 p.m. Dinner & Christmas Party
begin at 6 p.m.

Modern farm house is what you think of when
you walk into Scotty & Diane’s home. If you
enter the home through the front door, you are
in the foyer, with the dining room with dark
red walls that contrast the mocha colored walls
in the foyer, kitchen and living room. The
open floor plan opens up into the living room
that has a beautiful fireplace accented with
an antique stone mantle. The kitchen black
granite countertops with beautiful cabinets by
J & P Cabinets in Sulphur Springs, TX that
has a lighted corner cabinet that holds many
items passed down through both families. The
kitchen area also houses a breakfast nook and
access to a fantastic pantry, that includes it’s
very own Christmas Tree.
The second bath is located in the hallway with
a collection of snow men on the window sill.
On either side of the hall bath there are two
guest rooms. The first bedroom has sage walls
w/ dark accents. The second guest bedroom
has mustard colored walls and is set off with
Scotty’s bedroom suite from his childhood.
The master bedroom and bath is located down
the hallway and is has root beer colored walls
and the most awesome jewelry tree that Diane
picked up from Canton. Diane also discovered
two lamps that came from Scotty’s mom that
just happen to match perfectly then new
comforter. The master bath has his and hers
sinks and a garden tub with a separate shower.
Touches of their families are throughout the
house, including Scotty’s Dad’s boots that
reside in this bathroom.
Be sure to come out and see the Red brick
home accented with Austin Stone, built by
Tim Szafran.
Chad & Kelly Calvin
Chad & Kelly’s rustic lodge style home is warm
and inviting from the moment you walk into
the living room, with tall ceilings that open up
to a loft area above. The house has concrete
floor throughout with a dark stain that goes
well with the natural pine trim and doors. The
living room is open to the kitchen and dining
room areas, with barstools carrying the 3C
brand, which belonged to Chad’s grandfather,
Blackie Calvin. The cabinets are from J&P
Cabinets in Sulphur Springs, TX. Down a
short hall way off the living room, is their
sons’ bathroom and continues the western
theme. Chandler’s room has several things
from Chad’s family, including a toy chest and
a hitching post that belonged to Chad’s father.
The closet, as with the other closets throughout
the house, has built in shelves that make for
great storage. Across from Chandlers room is
the guest room.
The master bedroom is on the other end of
the house, with maroon walls that go great
with the concrete floors and dark accents. The
western theme is continued in this room as
well, with heavy cedar furniture with the Texas
motif. The master bath has a large shower
with a separate garden tub. The master closet
contains built in dressers as well as shelves
for shoes.
Up the stairs from the living room is loft where
the family hangs out to play video games and
watch television. It has a U bath and looks out
over the living room.
One of the families favorite spots and a covered
back porch where they can build a fire and sit
and talk. Please don’t miss this home.
