as J. Newbern one of the defendants in said case
ivbtyond the jurisdiction of said court and the
said Younjr Plaintiff preys that publication be
made in the Northern Standard for four successive
-weeks prior to the nest Term of the Honorable
District Court for Lamar County notifying the
aia Thomas J. Newbern of the pendency of this
suit and unless he appears at the next term of our
said District Court for said county to be holden at
the Court House in the Town of Paris on the
secpnd Monday in March next and deiendsaid
suit or the same will be heard ex parte.
Tiie petition in this cause charges that the said
defendants by force of arms took from the poes-
sionof the Plaintiff a certain negro girl Mornin;
that conniving: confederating and couspiring to-
gethertheyr deprived him ofsaid negress'serviccsat
a time and under circumstances when she was of
great value to Plaintiff that they still retain pos-
session of said negress to Plaintiff's damage five
hundred dollars.

Plaintiff that Letitia B. Coles defendant in this
ease is not a resident of this Republic. And said
petition charges that complainant William T. F.
Coles and Letitia B. Coles were lawfully inter-
married that said Letitia B. Co.lcs without any
just cause abandoned said complainant ; that they
have been separated three years ; and prays a di-
Torce from the bonds of matrimony.
This is therefore to notify the said Letitia B.
Colesofthe pendency of this suit and unless she
appears at the next term of our said District Court
for said county to beholden at the Court House
in the town of Paris on the second Monday in
March next and plead answer or demur to Plain-
tiff's Petiaon the same will be heard ex parte.

of Joshua Bowerman deceased This is therefore
to notify all persons having claims against said es-
tate to present them within ihe time required by
jaw jo months and those indebted to Joshua
Bowerman or Bowerman and Mittower will come
forward and make immediate payment ; otherwise
j.it will be commenced for the collection of the
amounts due and all persons indebted to the late
firm of Williamson & Bowerman will settle the

The nndersigned will sell lowpart cash and part
on time seven hundred and one acres of land situa-
ted ttvo miles south of Clarksville adjoining John
Butler on the south: with between two aud three
hundred acre? of excellent prairie the remainder of
the tract well timbered and rich arable laud.
This land from its contiguity to Town its fine
supply of water and wood and its situation in
one of the most dente settlements in the Republic
is very desirable for any immigrant who wishes
to have the advantages and convenience of a well
settled country with rich land at a low price.
The tracts will be sold in lots to suit purchasers.

ance of attachment on a debt due said plaintiff to
the amount of two hundred dollars and interest
against the property and effects of said Newbern
which attachment was levied on two negroesMor-
nin and Alfred as the property ofsaid Newbern ;
and whereas on the 17th day of January 1845
affidavit having been made also that Thomas J.
Newbern one ot the defendants is beyond the ju-
risdiction ol the court It is therefore orderedthat
publication be made ill the Northern Standard for
lour successive weeks of the pendency of this suit
notifying the said Newbern to be and appear at
the next term of the District Court to be holden for
said County of Lamar at the court house in the
town of Paris on the second Monday in March
next and in this behalf defend or the same will be
heard ex parte.

son and will be let to marcs at the reduced price
of Ten dollars the single leap and twenty dollars
the season or thirty dollars to insure a mare with
foal; which may be discharged i.i young cattle or
cows arid calves or beef cattle at the cash selling
pr'ce delivered at the stan And any mare that is
put by the insurance and traded before it is ascer-
tained whether she is with foalis liable for ihe in-
surance money.
Duke Luzborough is a light chesnut sorrel
seven years old this Spring and is sixteen hands
high and cannot be surpassed by any horse in the
United States or Texas for form or beauty or
muscular power.
The season will commence the first day of March
and expire the 1st of June 1845.

the Defendants by their writing- obligator' dated
the twenty sixth day of May A.D. Eighteen
Hundred and thirl eight acknawledged them-
selves indebted to Edward H. Tarrant "then Chief
Justice of the county of Red River and Judge of
Probate therefor and to his successors in office in
the penal sum q five : thousand dollars for thepay-
ment of which they jointly land severally bound
themselveSjWhich obligation was conditional upon
the faithful performance on the part of the said
Daniel McKinney ofhis duties as Guardian of the
Minor TTpirs of Wm. Collom deceased whion du
ties the Plaintiff alleges have not been faithfully
performed by said McKinney but that he has con
verted te his ewn use a great portion of the prop-
erty ofsaid Wards to the value of two thousand
dollars j for which the plaintiff prays judgment and
process ; and it being represented that said Pha-
rough Kitchens one ofsaid defendants is notnow
a resident of the Republic; it was ordered by the
Court that publication be maae in the Northern
Standard notifying the said Kitchens toappear at
the next term of the Hon. District Court for the
County aforesaid te be holden in the town af
Clarksville on the third Monday in March eight-
een hundred and forty-five and then and there
plead answer or demur to the Plaintiff's Petition
