A Bee Hive.
Last Saturday the thirty-seven
people at work in the different de-
partments of the Rooney Mer-
cantile store were busier than the
proverbial bee, as ever.\ one had
more than he could do, and
v. lieu evening came, they were a
tired bunch. Rut before dis-
missing them, Mr. Rooney pre-
sented every one of them with a
live dollar gold piece as a Christ-
mas gift, which was gratefully
and thankfully received. Mr.
Rooney also received some ele-
gant gilts from his employees,
which demonstrates the good fel-
lowship existing in this great
business between employer and
employee.

Wednesday night of this week.
Miss Kathleen Westormann en-
tertained a party of friends at the
home ol her parents. Several
very interesting ontests were en-
joy ed. lie firs aftei all the

each boy was provided with pen-
cil and paper and was to describe
some particular girl, how she was

other pleasant pastimes were en-
joyed until 11 after which
