The Easter baazar given by
the ladies of the Baptist Church
was a decided success, clearing
over $100. Many beautiful and
dainty embroidery designs and

ited and (practically all were

day for St Louis, where he goes
to buy equipment for the Leon
Valley Irrigation proposition. He
will be gone about two weeks,
and says work will be ruabed to
completion just as soon as the
equipment arrises.

Baker left Fort Stockton Satur-
day afternoon, on very important
business. Prof. Baker’s busi-
ness engagement carried him to
Alpine, while Mr. Smith was
compelled to continue his trip on
to Fort Davis. Since their re-
turn, they are not very commu-
nicative, but judging from the
constant smile that illuminates
their faces, their business must
have bean of a very satisfactory
nature.
Ckirck Wedding.
At the Methodist Church, last
Sunday night, Rev. Duncan per-
formed the ceremony, uniting
in marriage Mr. James Grimes
and Mrs. Drake. The many
friends of the bride and groom
extend them hearty congratula-
tions.
Cattle Sale.

McIntosh Bros, of Vega, Texas,
450 steers, to be shipped the 10th
of April. W. L. McIntosh ac-
companied Mr. Sachse home from
the El Paso convention and spent
a few days here, leaving for
home yesterday.
