PERFECT TIMING
FLINT, Mich. (AP) - George
L. Bott needed to add two bed-
rooms to his home when he took
on the responsibility of raising
the five children of his only son,
killed in an automobile accident.
So he took out a home improve-
ment loan from the Genesee Mer-
chants Bank and Trust Co.
His $1,500 note was returned
before any payments were made,
marked “Paid in Full,” the
bank’s way of celebrating an in-
stallment-loan record. It was
Bott’s loan that sent the total
over the $100 million mark in
just four years.
MOTHER’S LITTLE HELPER
GREAT BEND, Kan. (AP) -
When Mrs. Dale de Kraai’s
daughter, 7-year-old Kitty,
burned the trash for her mother
she also burned up an early
model car.
Mrs. de Kraai had gone to burn
the trash earlier but it was too
windy and she put it in the car.
When the wind stopped she asked
Kitty to burn the trash.
She did, without moving it.
