One Condo Hw:h ex who has made the name of Hondo
famous i Hondo Crouch whose picture (full paget appear:;
in thi. weeks issue of the .Saturday Evening Post I’ve
heard man; varns about Hondo Crouch and, his prmves, as
a s 'dmme of national fame Hon in loves to pull pranks,
so 1 ve been told, ?nd he once said that while he was with
the natioral.swimming team on tour he was the onk one
who nevr had anv trouble registering at hotels He ha I
a pet skunk on a leash and when he walked 'info a hotel
the crowd at the registration desk would automatically give
way Another time so the story goes: he was on a San
Antonio r,:i!io program and the announcer was giving a
splash-by-splash description of Hondo's swimming style
from, the pool side with the splashing of water very much
a part of the program During a pause in his breathless
account Hondo’s drawl was heard in the background.
"Hurry up I'm splashing all the vfattT^c of thi. p:n.'
November 3 is a date to mark on your calendar Be
sure to exercise your right as a citizen to vote In this day
and age. there are few nations left where this prerogative
is still possible, and one sure way to lose the right is to
be indifferent about the right to vote.
I’ve seen all kinds of costume jewelry in the form of the
donkey and the elephant, pillows, salt shakers, and what
have you but the ultimate, to my way of thinking, is a
manufacturer of bourbon who won’t commit himself in this
presidential campaign. The bourbon comes in both a donkey
and an elephant decanter Probably to give each party HIGH
hopes.
