CASTROVILLE—On every
day of the year except one,
Castroville is a quiet, small
community basking in its Old
World charm.
But on that other day, it
suddenly becomes a busy, in-
dustrious fastmoving town with
thousands of visitors. It is St.
Louis Day, Texas most famous
homecoming. And that day
this year is Sunday, August 20.
More than 12,000 persons
are expected to attend the 1967
St. Louis Day, to be held in
tree-shaded Koenig Park on the
banks of Medina River. Eat,
drink and be merry is the order
of the day as families and
friends unite. Games and a-
musements will provide enter-
tainment for all ages.
"Everything is in readiness
for the celebration," reported
Howard Mechler, general chair-
man. "We'll be prepared when
they come," added Mrs. Rich-
ard Brieden, kitchen chariman.
The homecoming will mark
the 123rd birthday of this com-
munity, located just 25 miles
west of San Antonio on U. S.
90.

each. When a bluebird

the flast of color and the sight
