“It takes efficient employees to find the materials and get
what the customers need quickly, especially when business is
brisk,” says Olan Snook, owner of Centerline Electric Supply.
Shown here are three of those employees who meet the public
every day. They are (left to right) Tracy Hamilton, Junell

Business is great at
Centerline Electric Supply
located at 109 East Abbey.
Owner Olan Snook, smiles
and explains that it couldn’t
happen if the people of Polk
County and contractors
hadn’t supported them and
helped their business to
grow.
Centerline Electric Supply
has the products the people
need. The company is both a
retail and wholesale
business. ‘‘Most of our
business is wholesale,”
Snook said. “However, 15 to

walk in for retail trade.
Items available for the
retail customer include swit-
ches, recepticles, light fix-
tures, bulbs, ceiling fans and
much much more.
Centerline carries a com-
plete line of decorator bulbs
for chandeliers and
bathrooms.
New products are always
coming out. For example
Centerline is now the
distributer for the renowned

commercial lighting. They

have some on display and
will have more.
Snook says it is important
to stay informed and keep
the latest products available
for the customers. For ex-
ample, he sells a lot of Par-
ragon hot water heater time
clocks which are energy
savers. Another item con-
tractors are using more
often now is the long radius
PVC Ls (used for pulling
wire underground.) “This is
becoming more common
everyday, especially for
underground services,”
Snook said.)
Part of the services Snook
provides at Centerline is ex-
plaining how some piece of
equipment or material
operates and offering ad-
vice. “We are always look-
ing for new and better ways
to do things.”
Olan Snook has spent his
life in the electrical field. In
1947 he received his
Journeyman’s License. He
was an electrical contractor
in Livingston from 1967-1982.
Then he decided to go into
the wholesale business.
Centerline Electric Supply
began June 1, 1982 at 209
East Denham. Since then,
the company has moved to
its present location at 109
East Abbey. “We needed a
larger building and a better
location,” he said. The move
enabled the company to take **
on ten more different lines of
electrical materials that
they previously didn’t have
room for.
