tion Club will meet at the home

in Colonial Oaks, and have mov-
ed into it from their farm home.
Birthday Party
Mrs. Forrest Rotramel honored
her daughter, Forrestine, on her
ninth birthday, with a party at
their home Friday afternoon.
Many games were played and
Vicki Tilley won the prise, a
large chocolate Easter egg. For-
ce stina received a lot of pretty
gifts, and the hostess assisted by
her daughter, Miss Judy served
refreshments to Phyllis Hilliard,
Vicki Tilley, Alice Guittera, Sue
Ann and Nancy Young, Helen
Hyatt, Joyce Neuman, Donna
Hines, Edie Lacy, Jean Moss,
Mary Ambruiz, Donna Welsinger,
Alvina Rotramel, Gye Nell Outs,
Lorena and Linda Castleberry.
Rev. and Mrs. George W. Del-
rymple and son Don were shop-
ping in SA on Saturday.
MAM Forrest Rotramel made
a business trip to SA Saturday.
Mrs. Laura Griffin was very
ill during the past week, but on
Saturday was reported quite im-
proved.
The infant daughter of MAM
George Redus had an eye oper-
ation last Thursday in the Bap-
tist hospital and was brought
home Saturday. *
Mr. C. A. Waddell was brought
home Saturday from the Nix Hos-
pital, where he had been for
treatment.

Senior Girls Honored
The Current Events Club hon-
ored the Senior girls of 1959 in
the home of Mrs. G. D. Whitfield
last Wednesday afternoon at 4:30
o’clock. Mrs. Jack Jones was co-
hostess. The home was decorated
in spring flowers. The 19 sen-
iors were very attractive in their
new spring clothes. They were
introduced by Mrs. Ike Bay. The
Senior teachers were also guests.
Mrs. J. H. Watson gave a paper
on the Love life of Irving Ber-
lin and Ellen McKay. Mrs. Tem-
ple Adams gave a brief resume
of Berlin’s accomplishments. 60
guests and members were pres-
ent.
B. J. Hattox
Mr. Bobby Jefl Hattox, 61, bom
and reared in Devine, died at his
home in Grass Valley, California
on March 16, 1959 and funeral
services were held at the First
Baptist Church there on March
19. He was a member of the Bap-
tist Church, a Mason and East-
ern Star. He was Past Worthy
Patron of the Devine chapter of
Eastern Star. He and his family
moved to California about IS
years ago. The survivors are his
wife, Mrs. Jessie Grant Hattox,
two sons, B. J. of Woodland,
Calif., and Dr. Frank Hattox of
Lemon Grove, Calif., a daughter,
Mrs. Jessie Martha Covington of
Victorville, Calif., two brothers,
Sydney of New York and Frank

Helen Hyatt Honorod
At the regular Brownie Troop
No. 5, meeting last Tuesday,
Helen Hyatt had a birthday cake
and soda pop to share with her
Brownies. They remembered her
with a lot of pretty gifts, which
pleased her very much. Others
than the troop present were John-
nie, Laurie and Virginia Messec,
Murray Wernette and Linda Wie-
mars.
Brownie Troop No. 1 met last
Tuesday in the home of Mrs. A. J.
Hollis for the St. Patrick meet-
ing. Mrs. Hugh Robie and Mrs.
Liddy are co-workers with Mrs.
Hollis. The girls made Easter
Bookmarks in the form of a baby
chick, with a fuzzy top and col-
ored yellow. The refreshments
carried out the St. Patrick theme.
Sue Sledge and Donna Sue Hol-
lis were ill and unable to attend.
MAM C. P. DuBose and son,
Wade, left Friday for Lake Char-
les, La., to see their new grand-
daughter, Kathleen Frances Sim-
mons. She is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Buddy Simmons and
was born Wednesday night, Mar.
