Quihi Club President
A group of folks from Hondo
drove up to Comfort Sunday for
a visit with the Rev. and Mrs.
J. Lorfing. Making the trip
were MAM Henry Frerichs, Mrs.
Louis Heyen, MAM Edgar Stieg-
ler, MAM Milton Brucks, MAM
Walter Haass and baby daughter,
MAM Arnold Mussman and son,
and MAM Milton Heyen. They
attended church at Comfort, thpn
had a basket junch picnic. On
their return trip they visited the
Hermann Sons Home near Com-
fort.
Mrs, 8, D, Bassett attended the
graduation of her daughter-in-law,
Mrs, W, W. Bassett, from nursing
school in Tucson, Ariz. They then
went to Sherman, Tex. where Lt.
and Mrs, Bassett are stationed.
Last Sunday, Mrs. David Bassett,
M, and Mrs. W. W. Bassett of
Sherman and M&M S. D. Bassett
visited at Lackland AFB where
David Bassett is stationed. He
joined the Air Force on Sept. 7
and is taking his basic training
at Lackland.

QUIHI — The Upper Quihi
Community Club met Friday,
Sept. 16 and elected the following
officers: President, Benny De
Toimo Jr.; Vice-president, Elmer
Saathoff; Secretary, Mrs. Jack
Share- and Treasurer, Clarence
Saathoff.
Eighteen families paid their
dues for another year.
Plans were made for a Hallo-
ween party on the evening of
October a at 7:30.
After the business meeting card
games were played. Prize win-
ners were Mrs. Walter Balzen,
Mrs. Fritz Fuos, Mrs. Andy Oe-
finger, and Earl, Milton and E.
W. Balzen.
Mrs. Alfred Walch was an all
day visitor of Mrs. L. A. Gerdes
on Friday.
On Monday of last week Elmer
Nietenhoefer, accompanied bv his
parents, MAM Chris Nietenhoefer
went to Corpus Christi. Elmer
attended the meeting and the
showing of the 1956 Ford while
there.
MAM Lloyd Calvin Lindeburg of
Corpus Christi and Wilbur Linde-
burg of Seguin spent the weekend
visiting their parents, MAM Ar-
nold Lindeburg, and their sister,
Shirley.

Mrs. Albert Bryant, Bertha Rhee,
and Billy. Mrs. Rosa Brucks, Mrs.

MAM Elbert Wiemers surprised
the Honig boys with home made
ice cream on Wednesday evening
at the home of MAM Wm. Honig.
Meryle Wiemers was also a vis-
itor in the Honig home.

nie, MAM William Ray Schulte,
and Dolly Saathoff were weekend
visitors Of MAM William Snyder
and Billie' in Corpus Christi.-

tricia were Saturday evening vis-
itors of MAM Robert B. Breiten
in Dunlay.

ty on her twelfth birthday Sunday

ren, Evelyn, Dorothy, Betty, and
James; M&M Marion Mucnmk
and daughters, Kathryn, Mariann
and Dorothy; Judy, Sharon, Pat-
sy and Joyce Wiemers. Refresh-
ments of ice cream and cake were
served on the lawn.
MAM Elroy Gerdes and child-
ren Donnie Roy, Kathy Louise,
Nancy Marie, and David Joe have
gone to California for an extended
visit. .
