Aerospace Scholars Program
James Earl (Jimmy) Johnson of
Megargel has been selected as a nomi-
nee for the fifth annual High School
Aerospace Scholars Program. The
program encourages Texas high
school students to pursue studies in
math, science, engineering or com-
puter science. The State of Texas in
partnership with NASA and the Texas
educational community developed
the program to offer Texas high
school students with the opportunity
to participate in an education pro-
gram which features an all-expense
paid, week long summer residential
experience at the Johnson Space
Center in Houston. Texas legislators
have the opportunity to identify stu-
dents from their district for nomina-
tion to take part in the program.
Jimmy was one of four students who
will receive this honor in House Dis-
trict 69. The other three students are
.limmx Johnson
from the Hirschi Math-Science IB
Magnet School.
Jimmy is a student at Megargel
High School. He is the son of Don
and Denise Johnson.
