November Newsletter
by Melissa Graves
It is November already!
Thanksgiving is just around the
comer and there is so much to be
thankful for. State was in our
building last week for our annual
survey. We got a very good report
on our level of care for our
residents and are very happy about
it!
A very special resident, Mary
Parsley went to her final home
with Jesus recently. Mary was a
beautiful lady with a sweet
disposition. She had been living
in our home for over 5 years and
will be greatly missed.
We are happy to welcome a new
resident. Morris Miller has moved
into our home. Morris is from the
Fort Worth area and is an avid
domino player. We hope he feels
at home here.
We've got a lot of activities
planned for November and a new
person to lead the fun. Joyce
Addison is now heading up
activities at the nursing home. She
is still doing the restorative, but
now is also in activities. She is
going full blast. The residents love
her and we are so glad to have her.
Scheduled activities include a
birthday party this coming Friday
for Polly Killian. She has the only
Nursing Home
to hold Domino
Tourney
Archer City Nursing Center
will be hosting a Domino Tour-
nament at 6:30 pm on Friday,
November 6. Everyone is in-
vited to come on down to play
and join in the fun and fellow-
ship. Chips and dips and drinks
will be served to all in atten-
dance.
"We greatly appreciate every-
one who regularly come to
brighten our residents' days with
a game or a visit," stated activity
director Melissa Graves.

Sonny and Alycia Farris an-
nounce the birth of their son,
Jakob Charles Farris. Jakob was
bom October 25, 1009 at 8:48
p.m. in Wichita Falls, TX. He
weighed 7 lbs., 12 oz., and was
20 3/4" long.
Jakob's grandparents are Leesa
Holloway and Patrick Goldston,
and Jerry Don Farris and Missy
Farris. His greatgrandmother is
Marilyn Stone.
November birthday. That same
evening is our Domino
Tournament at 6:30 pm, to which
everyone is invited. Snacks will
be provided.
Also this month, we will be
having a noon cookout. Everyone
always seems to enjoy those! Also
planned are a Hot Chocolate and
Cookie Party and a Thanksgiving
Party. Residents will be baking
bread one morning, too. There are
lots of games such as ball toss,
basketball, horseshoes, parachute
fun, ring toss and kickball
scheduled daily which help keep
the residents active. They also
seem to enjoy fresh popped
popcorn a couple times a week
and fresh fruit every Monday. But
some of the best treats are when
people come to visit. They love to
see the Gospel Singers on
Wednesday mornings, the
Catholic Daughters when they
have bingo, and everyone who
comes in for Sunday School and
church services. We are very
thankful for all the blessings
bestowed on us!
Happy Veteran's Day to all of
the local Veterans. Thanks for all
your sacrifices to make our
country the home of the brave and
the land of the free!
