THE ARCHER COUNTY NEWS-THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 1993-PAGE THREE
Henry-Isom Pledge
Wedding Vows
Susan Renee Isom, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Allan Isom, became the
bride of Ben Richard Henry, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Henry of Archer
City in a candlelight ceremony on
Saturday, December 12, at 7 p.m .at
the Downtown Church of Christ.
They were united in marriage by the
bride's father.
At the front of the church, brass can-
delabras intertwined with magnolia
leaves held white tapers and provided
the background. Stands holding Bos-
ton ferns completed the arrangement.
The aisles were marked with hurricane
lamps, bows and greenery. White tap-
ers, bows and magnolia leaves ac-
cented each window.
The bride, escorted by her father,
wore a formal gown of white satin
designed by Mori Lee. The fitted bod-
ice featured a v-neckline and was over-
laid with imported re-embroidered
French Alencon lace that was heavily
beaded with cluster pearls and irides-
cents. The Renaissance sleeves fea-
tured a satin bow, lace, pearls and
sequins. The skirt had a center front
medallion of Alencon lace and scal-
loped lace at the hem. Lace-covered
windows graced the chapel train. A
border of scalloped lace surrounded the
hem of the train. Satin bows adorned
the train. Her wreath style headpiece
of pearls and iridescents featured a
double pouff at the back. A double
layer of illusion was attached to the
headpiece. The bride carried a cascade
of white roses.
Music was provided by a chorus
under the direction of Harold Valen-
tine. Solos by Valentine included:
"Annie's Song," "12th of Never,"
"Turn Around," "One Hand, One
Heart" and "I Pledge My Love."
Alana Rose of Mesquite, sister of
the bride, served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids included Jeanne Isom, sis-
ter of the bride, Kim Atchley of Ar-
lington and Karen Norwood of Irving.
The attendants wore tea length dresses
of cherry red moire fashioned with
sweetheart necklines. The skirt backs
were adorned with self-fabric bows.
They carried arm bouquets of red ros-
es, white mini carnations and green-
ery.
Tara Isom, niece of the bride, was
the flower girl. She wore a tea length
I dress of cherry red moire and carried a
white basket of rose petals.
The groom was attired in a Chris-
tian Dior black full-dress tuxedo with
a white tie and vest.
Beau Henry of Waxahachie, brother
of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Todd Henry of Ar-
cher City, brother of the groom, Jon
Riggs of Midland, cousin of the
groom and Joel Dodd of Fredricks-
burg, Maryland. The groomsmen wore
full-dress black tuxedos with black
ties and cummerbunds.
Eric Isom, nephew of the bride, was
the ringbearer. He was dressed in attire
identical to the groomsmen.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs.
Isom chose a two-piece dress of teal
silk. Mrs. Henry wore a royal blue
jacquard dress with a jacket in a floral
design. Their corsages were of red
roses.
Honor guests were the bride's grand-
mother, Mrs. Omilee Isom of El Dora-
do and the groom's grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. A.W. Covey of Irving and
Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Henry of Decatur.
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Isom, brother
and sister-in-law of the bride, presided
at the registry tables.
The candlelight reception focused on
holiday decor with a large decorated
Virginia pine serving as the focal
point in the Family Life Center.
Christmas wreaths, swags, and center-
pieces carried out the red and gold
theme.
The bride’s table featured a white
tiered confection adorned with fresh
flowers. Jayne Knapp and Marie Shel-
ton of Irving served the wedding cake.
The groom’s chocolate cake, which
was accented with frosted grapes, was
served by Janet Henry of Waxahachie,
sister-in-law of the groom, and Stepha-
nie Ellis of St. Joseph, Missouri,
cousin of the groom. Serving at the
punch bowl and samovar were Kelley
Rose and Vanesa Wood of Little
Rock.
Following a Caribbean cruise, the
couple will be at home in Euless.
