their counselor, Mathilde
Scott, Tuesday afternoon for
their regular meeting. The
meeting was presided over by
the president, Mary Evelyn
Futrell. The G. A. song,
“We’re a Story to Tell to the
Nations,” was sung, followed
by prayer by Mathilde Scott.

55:1-13. The subject for the
program was “Europe Calls to
America.” Those taking part
were Wandelle Connor, Marie
Porterfield and LaVera Ann
Bailey. Margie Porterfield
rendered a special musical
number, using “Cordial Greet-
ings" as tbe song that she sang.
The meeting was dismissed
with prayer by LaVera Ann
Bailey.
The room was beautifully
decorated with assorted fall
leaves, blue daisies, and chrys-
cr.themnms. Favors of leaves

A. watchword were given to
each memDer. Refreshments of
apples and candy were served

ches,' was the guest of Mrs.
Stroud Kelley of this city Tues-
day.
Mrs. S. T. Smith, who recent-
ly underwent an operation at a
Shreveport hospital, was per-
mitted to return home last Sat-
urday and is recovering nicely.
Says Hitler Will Not Last
Cleveland, O. (UP)—Victor
T. J. Tlach, former Austrian
consul general here, has pre-
dicted Hitler's end if the war
is long. "When the German
people fee! the pangs of hun-
ger, they will turn against Hit-
ler,” Tlach said.
