Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Shep-
herd and two sons, of Gaines-
ville, were here for a week-
end visit with Mr. Shepherd's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M.
Shepherd.

iting her sister. Miss Margaret
Jarratt, student nurse, John
Scaley hospital Galveston.
Mr. and Mrs. W, E. Darnell
of Port Arthur are here for a

nell; and sister, Mrs. W. M.
Shepherd; also Mr. and Mrs.
L. L. Rhodes, parents of Mrs.

years.
IT’S A HOWL!
Get ready to howl!
Here comes Jane Withers—
with those inimitable Ritzes
right on her heels!
It’s “Pack Up Your Trou-
bles," folks, the new 20th Cen-
tury-Fox comedy which comes
to the Palace Theatre tonight
and Saturday.
Jane’s the bravest little
Ma’amselle in all France—
and those mad, mad Ritzes are
in the army now—and telling
the Genera! where to get off!
Lynn Bari, Joseph Sehild-
kraut, Stanley Fields, Fritz
Leiber and Lionel Royce are
featured in the supporting cast.
Feature No. 2 on the double
feature bill at the Palace is the
Zane Grey story, “Heritage of
the Desert.”
U. S. Nelson is spending the
week in Garrison. Mr. Nelson
is in charge of the N. M. Ed-
wards grocery store in the ab-
sence of Mr. Edwards, who
has been ill.
Neighbors and friends, in
asking you to elect me to the
smallest office within the gift
of the people, I do so with a
thought in mind that if you
choose me your public servant
that I may serve yon in a larger
capacity at some other time. I
do not feel that I am any
stranger to you, as I have been
living one mile east of Timpson
on my farm for exactly 40
years, and for the past 22
years I have mixed and
mingled with you in a business
way, and have had the privi-
lege of being in the most of
your homes at sometime or oth-
er.
I believe in the rotation of
office holders, so if I am fortu-
nate enough for you to choose
me your next Constable, I have
only these promises to make
you: That I will make you a
fair and impartial officer and
will uphold the law to the best
of my ability, and will regard
the law myself, and to be free
to do this, I will assure you
that I won’t have any political
boss or otherwise before me or
after election. G. C. SAYER.
