ular session Tuesday night
with Mayor J. W. Kristensen
presiding, business of the
evening consisting mainly of
routine matters.
A forward step to keep
streets of the city in good con-
dition was taken through the
purchasing of a street main-
tainer, a complete motor-
driven grading machine. The
new equipment is expected to
arrive Thursday.

The Zend Avesta Club was
made welcome at Mrs. Byron
Smith’s home a' its recent
meeting. Despite the incle-
ment weather fourteen mem-
bers were present.

history and government were
discussed by Mrs. W. M. Ram-
sey. Mrs. W. E. Neai gave in-
teresting descriptions of some
of its outstanding buildings.
Mrs. E. A. Booth, the able
leader of the program, remin-
escing, gave the high lights of
her recent trip there, also
touching on some of the city’s
historic surroundings. Other
members from their personal
observations joined in the dis-
