Childs and son, Bobbie, spent
several hours in Shreveport
Friday.
Miss Sue Hawthorn, of the
N. Y. A. office in San Augus-
tine, came in Friday for a vis-
it with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. A. Hawthorn,
and aunt, Miss Gladys Haw-
thorn. The young lady was
accompanied by Miss Dixie
Nethery of Center, and to-
gether the two young ladies
went to Dallas this morning
for a day’s visit.
Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Smith at-
tended the East Texas sing-
song held at Henderson Friday
night. They made the trip in
company with Carthage rela-
tives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Taylor,
James Taylor and Miss Eliza-
beth Taylor are in Shreve-
port today to be with their
mother, Mrs. Ada Taylor, who
is a patient at a hospital in
that city. Mrs. Taylor has
been seriously ill for several
days and was taken to Shreve-
port last Wednesday. The
lady’s numerous friends trust
she will soon be able to return
home, enjoying good health.

of Methodist Young
People's Program

Seventh Grade Citizenship
Club
The seventh grade citizen-
ship club met Dec. 6. Six best
citizens were elected as fol-
lows: Lir.veJ Witcher, Dixie
Dunaway, Hulon Courtney,
Vada Richards, Guy Broad-
way and Thomas Eakin. Safe-
ty first committee presented
the following program: Play
written by Trudy Lewellen;
song, Dixie Dunaway; contest,
won by Wanda Hailey, Margie
Ramsey, Dixie Dunaway;
poem, Wanda Hailey; pledge
to flag, class. The good man-
ners committee will direct pro-
gram Dec. 13. Reporter.
Miss Mary Lee Riddlesper-
gtr, member of the Bronson
High School faculty, is the
guest of her uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Rogers,
this week-end.
