Christian Science Services
“Christ Jesus” is the subject
of the lesson-sermon which will
be read in all Churches of
Christ, Scientist, on Sunday,
September 1.
The Golden Text is: “God
sent not his Son into the world
to condemn the world; but
that the world through him
might be saved.” (John 3:17).
Among the citations which
comprise the Lesson-Sermon is
the following from the Bible:
"Cod anointed Jesus of Nazar-
eth with the Holy Ghost and
with power: who went about
doing good, and healing all
that were oppressed of the de-
vil; for God was with him.”
(Acts 10:38).
The Lesson-Sermon also in-
cludes the following passage
from the Christian Science
textbook, "Science and Health
with Key to the Scriptures” by
Mary Baker Eddy: ‘Tlur Mas-
ter fully and finally demon-
strated divine Science in his
victory over death and the
grave. Jesus’ deed was for
the enlightenment of men and
for the salvation of the whole
world from sin, sickness, and
death.” (Page 45).
