LL H. W. Beasley Says Jungles
Mashed Down By Bulldozers
Manned By Seances
We have an appreciated let-
ter from First Lieutenant Hill
W. Beaaley. He is the son of
H. S. Beasley of Timpson. The
letter was dated a few days
before surrender of Japan. We
take the liberty of quoting the
lieutenant's letter:
“As I sit here listening to
this news I cannot help but
wish that Syl were here to be
with me. I know that he
would be well pleased with all
that we have done.
"I have been trying to get
this letter off for sometime but
the work here has been hard
and the hours long. I only
hope that our efforts towards
keeping the ‘big boys’ flying
have been helpful.
“We came by the way of
Hawaii and Antiwetok. The
voyage was uneventful and to-
ward the end was very boring.
We were very glad to get to
Guam and get on land again.
Since then we have been hard
at work.
“The jungle was the big
problem. Bulldozers, manned
by Seabees, solved the prob-
lem. Where the jungle stood
they tore and mashed it down.
It is yet to be told of the job
that they have done.
"We are all very elated
over the war news and we are
expecting the end soon. I only
hope that we will be spared
the invasion. That will be a
saving of thousands of men.”
The lieutenant concludes by
sending regards to all.

Yes, it's true—a little gas flame cools your
with gas air conditioning.
How is it done? Well, that's a technical matter, and we will
be glad to explain it to you. But all-year gas air conditioning is
most economical and efficient. One thing is certain—with all-
year gas air conditioning you and your family won't ever have
to worry about sultry summer nights!
Summer cooling is only half the
story. With winter's blustery
winds ... you can flip the switch
of the all-year gas air conditioner
and worm the home with clean,
humidified air. Plan now to in-
clude this new quality of living in
your home after victory.
