In Denison, a spokesman of the
Katy Railroad said the reopening
of the railroad’s car shops there
is now indefinite since steel work-
ers over the nation have walked
out. The shops were closed short-
ly before Christmas because of a
material shortage, and 225 em-
ployes in the shops are now on
furlough.

Gee’s Hopkins County Court her*
Tuesday.
County Attorney T. J. Tucker
was reported ill with flu Monday,
but court officials said that he
planned to return to hi* office
Tuesday in order to prosecute
the cases called for trial.
The Texas Senate resumed its
tug-of-war with Governor Coke
Stevenson today. The special Sen-
ate session to consider recess ap-
pointment*—the first such meet-
ing in the state's history—recon-
vened at high noon., The Senate
has been in recess-standing at
ease is the legislative phrase—
since January 9. So far, there has
been no indication that Governor
Stevenson has changed his posi-
tion that the special session is un-
constitutional.
