Austin, Oct. 3. (UP)—Lint
cotton is not “just any cotton,”
Dr. A. B. Cox, cotton market-
ing expert of the University of
Texas, said today, advising
Texas farmers to clear their
eotton production to war
needs.
These needs he named as
follows:
■Lint, of which each soldier
'requires 250 pounds a year.
Cottonseed oil, indispensa-
ble since the import of other
vegetable oils has been cut off.
Cottonseed cake and meal,
vital to livestock industries, es-
pecially dairying.
Cotton listers, of which the
government takes all and
could use more in the manu-
facture of munitions.
Cottonseed hulls, used all
the way from feed to sources
of important chemicals.

is the advice given University
of Texas co-eds in a golder en-
titled “UT Co-Sd-Your Job for
Victory.”
The folders are to be distri-
buted at a mass meeting of all
women students Monday, Oc-
tober 5, with Mrs. Grace Sloan
Overton, nationally-recogniz-
ed lecturer, as the main speak-
er. Mrs. Overton will speak
on the subject: “Reckoning
with Ourselves as Women.”
A suggested time budget for
University co-eds is included
in the pamphlet along with the
suggestion that all women
tithe their time for war serv-
ice. Out of the 168 hours in a
week, at least 108 are requir-
ed for sneh essentials as class
time, study and sleep. Remain-

Albuquerque, N. X. (UP)
—Albuquerque citizens still
are shaking their heads over
the strange case of the man
who turned down the opportu-
nity to kiss Heddy Lamarr 10
times.
The anonymous individual
purchased a *10,000 war bond
at an Albuquerque rally but
did not claim his privilege of
kissing the raven-haired Hol-
lywood beauty who had offer-
ed a kiss to each purchaser of
a $1,000 bond.
