Mrs. M. B. Turner and daugh-
ter, Miss Basel of Kilgore,
left Tuesday morning for a
pleasant vacation of about
three weeks. The principal
objective of the vacationists
will be San Francisco, where
they will visit Mrs. J. D. Hair-
grove and Mrs. Sherman Mc-
Lain, mother and sister, re-
spectively, of Mrs. Crump and
Mrs. Turner. The trip is be-
ing made by automobile over
the Southern route, and the
return by Northern route,
states visited to include New
Mexico, Arizona, California,
■Utah, Colorado arid Okla-
homa.
Mrs. J. L. Bryant has re-
turned home after a ten days
visit with relatives in Marlin,
Texas.
J. F. Thompson of Dallas
and Mrs. F. M. Grimes of Ty-
ler, are spending several days
visiting their sister, Mrs. F.
A. Steadley of this city.
Misses Frances Bogue and
Shirley Bogue have returned
from a visit with their aunt,
Mrs. Robert Williams of Gar-
rison. They are the children
of Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Bogae
and Mr. and Mrs. Buel Bogue,
respectively.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Goode
of Anderson, Ala., were recent
visitors in the home of their
ancle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
E. P. Cox of Beuna Vista.
Their visit in Texas included
some time spent in the Rio
Grande Valley sector.

ef Nacogdoches is spending
the week with Miss Mary Jane
Ramsey.
Mrs. Wayne Olds of Musko-
gee, Okla., is here for few
weeks visit with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Milford
and relatives and friends of
Corinth community.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. McCavid
Attend State Meet
of Druggist*
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. MeDavid
returned Thursday afternoon
from Houston, where they at-
tended the state meeting of
Texas Parmaceutical Associa-
tion, which convened Monday
and continued over Wednes-
day. The .business sessions
were instructive and interest
holding, Mr. MeDavid said. “I
enjoyed it very much, and be-
lieve that it was one of. the
best that I ever attended,'' he
added.
A banquet was given Tues-
day at noon for veteran drug-
gists of 25 or more years ex-
perience. Mr, MeDavid. with
service continuing over about
80 years, was one of the 110
guests attending the affair.
Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge J.
Young and daughter, 'Barbara
Anne, returned Thursday to
Camp C! shorn, Glehmora, La.,
to resume his work there. He
has a position assisting in
maintaining electrical equip-
ment at this army base. The
family moved to Glenmora
Monday.
Lewis Wool ridge of Sea-
drift and Eaco Johnson of
Longview, visited their cousin,
Mrs. Allen Milford, this week.
Miss Minnette Kaden has
gone to Port Arthur for a visit
of several weeks with rela-
tives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Poore
of Port Arthur, have been
spending their vacation with
Mr .and Mrs. G. M. Stanfield
and other Timpson relatives
and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomp-
son and children of Eagle Pass
are here for a visit with Mr.
and Mrs. W. J. Walker, par-
ents of Mrs. Thompson.

son, has received announce-
ment of the marriage of his
granddaughter, Miss Charles
Fay Harrell of Port Arthur.
The Port Arthur News in is-
sue of June 15, says:
“Mr. and Mra. Charles Har-
rell, 1120 Thomas boulevard,
announce the marriage of
their only daughter, Charted
Fay, to Roy William Swice-
good, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.
W. Swicegood of Okmulgee,
Okla. The wedding took
place June 9 in Muskogee,
Okla.
"The marriage was the cul-
mination of a romance that
began almost two years ago
when the Oklahoma Univer-
sity band, of which Mr. Swice-
good was a member, was en-
tertained by the senior class
at Texas State College for
Women, of which Mrs. Swice-
good was a member.
"The bride is a graduates of
TSCW and the local high
school. Mr. Swicegood at-
tended Okmulgee junior col-
lege, Tulsa university and Ok-
lahoma State university. He
received his degree from the
East Central State college in
Ada, Okla.
"Following a wedding trip
through Oklahoma and Arkan-
sas, Mr. and Mrs. Swicegood
will be temporarily located in
Okmulgee. This fall, they
will live in Stroud, Okla.,
where Mr. Swicegood will be
hand director in the high
school there.”

Alan Curtis and others in Uni-
versal's “Buck Privates,” com-
ing Saturday midnight to the
Palace Theatre, is a story of
three girls who believed in
each other, two years, and one
song.
The song was "Rei Mir Btet
Du Schoen.” The girls, Patty,
La Verne and Maxsne, were
an obscure trio on starvation
street in vaudeville and radio
who kept together by one
thing—they knew they were
right and the world was
wrong. The tune and the trio
got together, and soon the An-
drews were in the four’figure
income brackets.
