I this, country, Uncle Sam, too, has the right of way over the power lines. And that
is as it should be in these days of crisis. Everything he needs must go into helping Uncle
Sam win.
That is why the Lower Colorado River Authority is putting forth every effort to
supply all the electricity it can for the war industries of Texas, for military installations
and for the home front—the farmer, the worker, the homes from whence our strength
springs.
While Uncle Sam has the right of way for Victory, we can’t do all the things w«
once did. That is why we are limited in the extensions of electric lines and why you can’t
buy many electrical appliances you us4l to. Vital materials must go into war machines.
You can do your share and help us do ours by using your electricity economically and
carefully; by keeping your appliances in good repair; by seeing that jobs that can be done
by daylight aren't left until after dark. Working together, we’ll all make out.
