Tor the law was given by
Moses, but grace and truth
came by Jesus Christ.”
(John 1:17)
In the midst of all the
preparation for our Christ-
ines Sale and decorating our
home for the Holiday Season
we did manage to find time
for other activities during
the week.
Thanks to volunteers like
Mary Jane Saathoff,
Florence Marquis, Lee Hol-
comb, Ella Brucks and
Edwin and Lydia Bohmfalk,
residents played games a
oouple of days this week,
enjoyed a sing along and all
the calendars were made.
Residents really enjoyed
the just Christmas music of
the year at our home on
Friday. Ella Brucks played
the piano and Edwin and
Lydia Bohmfalk led the sing-
ing for us. What a better
way to begin the Holiday
Season.
Following the singing
everyone helped Mrs. Ida
Brown celebrate her 88 th
birthday. Her daughter,
Mrs. Homer Pfchot, brought
delicious homemade ofces
and along with punch and
coffee we all had a good
time. Our special thanks to
the family and our congratul-
ations to Bln. Brown on her
birthday.
Earlier this week Father
Cleary and members of St.
John’s Catholic Church came
to have a mass for residents.
Residents throughly enjoyed
the service and the oppor-
tunity to worship. A special
thank you to St. John’s for
sharing their time with resi-
dents.
Pastor &vie Braun came
on Thursday afternoon to
have a communion service
with Protestant residents.
Pastor Braun is pastor of St.
Pauls Lutheran Church in
Hondo and we thank him for
coming to give residents this
opportunity.
Sunday afternoon Mrs.
Lena Graham celebrated her
90th birthday. Her family
brought delicious homemade
cakes for everyone. We all
had a good time visiting and
helping Mrs. Graham cele-
brate her birthday. Our
thanks to the family for a
lovely party.
Thanks a million to all of
you who participated in the
Christmas Sale. Sales were
excellent, but there are still
many items left to choose
from. Come by anytime.
Prices are very reasonable.
We have ceramic trees with
lights and music boxes,
ceramic snowmen with
music boxes, Christmas
ornaments including Smurfs,
and other gift items.
Residents’ Christmas
parties with their families
are on the 22 and 23 at 2:30
in the afternoon. Invitations
will be sent to let you know
the day of your resident’s
party. Families are asked to
bring their favorite goodies
for the party.
