• The MCH Wellness Center will
soon open and provide much needed
space for the Home Health Care and
Rehabilitation departments. This
facility is located at 3202 Avenue G.
Partofthis facility will soon be avail-
able to the public on a membership
basis for aerobic classes, health
education classes and much more.
• MCH is now offering continuing
educational units (CEU) for medical
professionals living or working in
Medina County, including social
workers, pharmacists, physical th-
erapists, radiologic technologists
and others for a small fee. MCH has
a contract with theTexas Tech health
Sciences Center and receives live
broadcasts which MCH tapes for
viewing. Viewing and testing times
can be scheduled through the MCH
Administration office at 741-6378.
• MCH is oo-sponsoring a Mate
gaat proposal writing seminar set
far June 5-7 in Hondo. The cost is
$10. Information is available 741-
6384.
• A computer training class is
scheduled for MCH employees at
Hondo High School.
• An extern "shadowing" program
is being researched, in corperations
with Star Tech Prep, to provide free
summer student assistance in vari-
ous departments of the hospital. This
program offers work experience to
young adults and mentoring oppor-
tunities to MCH employees.
• MCH is in the process of recruit-
ing physicians specializing in inter-
nal medicine, surgery, physical reha-
bilitation and emergency medicine.
It is projected that these physicians
may move to Hondo in the near fu-
ture.
