eral health of this vicinity is very
good.
Rev. Neil of Greenville lectured here
last Thursday night, his subject being
state-wide prohibition. The lecture
was great and made some very forci-
ble impressions.
Rev. Moore conducted the Presby-
terian services at this place Saturday
night and Sunday.
Fred Hawkins’ horse became fright-
ened and ran away Sunday afternoon,
damaging the buggy and crippling the

Bro. Stevens, the Christian preach-
er, delivered good sermons here Sun-
day and Sunday night.
A very good crowd at singing Sun-
day, among whom were several from
Yantis.
Profs. Bills and Clark of Green
Pond sang for ds Sunday, after which
Prof. Bills and Dug Alcorn made short
talks on music.
Dug Alcorn made a business trip to
Sulphur Springs last Friday.
There will be preaching at this
place next Saturday and Sunday by
Bro. Gilbert of Sherley. Bro. Gilbert
Is a fine man and preacher and we
hope for large crowds to hear him.
Bro. R. M. Stone and family and
Bro. Stevens pud family and Walter
Seymore went fishing and hunting on
Lake Fork last Friday. They report
dull times, no fish and no squirrels.

Martin Springs, Texas, June 19.—
No rain yet, and if It doesn’t come
within a very few days, the corn ciop
will be a thing of the past. Cotton is
doing very well, considering the hot
winds. The oat ciop has been har-
vested and turned out well.
R. W. Lowry filled his regular ap-
pointment at Martin Springs Satur-
day and Sunday. Good crowds turned
out on both days.
The W. O. W’s. met Sunday after-
noon at 3 o’clock and decorated the
grave of George Bell. Hon. John Hyde
and J. D. Melton of Sulphur Springs
were present and made splendid talks.
