Recent visitors of Mr. and
Mrs. Oliver Reinhart Jr.
were Mrs. Cora Belle Gar-
rett, Mr. Lee La Blanc, Mr.
and Mrs. J.B. Collier, and
Mr. Garvin Granberry of
Carrizo Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Rein-
hart Jr., Rachel and John
Reinhart attended a family
reunion in Grimes County
this weekend. Mr. and Mrs.
Matt Dial of Mobile, Ala-
bama were the guests in the
Reinhart’s home in Grimes
County for the weekend.
Sister Mary Charles re-
turned home last Tuesday
after spending a week in
Baptist Memorial Hospital
where she underwent
medical treatment.
Out of town relatives who
were here for the memorial
services last Wednesday for
Mrs. Mona Richter were her
three brothers Mr. and Mrs.
James Edmondson and
daughters of Belton, Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Edmondson of
Houston, Mr. Charles
Edmondson of Houston and
daughters Hope of Houston
and Charity of Natalia. Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Edmond-
son, an unde, of Houston,
and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reese
of Tyler.
Visiting with Supt. and
Mrs. Maurice Zerr the past
week has been his mother
Mrs. Gertrude Zerr.
Mrs. Maurice Zerr re-
turned home recently after
spending a week in
Albuquerque, NM with her
daughter and grandson,
Judy Beesley and son Adam.
Dennis and Susan Herr-
mann and their three chil-
dren, Bert, Brandy and
Joshua are newcomers to
D’Hanis. They have moved
here from near Hondo to
their place north of D’Hanis.
Mike Rothe and Vincent
Ney who are attending
summer school at Texas
A&M were home for the
weekend visiting their
parents the Joe W. Rothes
and John Neys.
Mrs. Jack Randolph and
daughter Tiffany of Fair-
banks, Alaska left Tuesday
after spending some time
visiting her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Oliver Reinhart, Jr.,
Rachel and John Reinhart
and her grandmother Mrs.
Oliver Reinhart. While here
she attended the funeral of
her grandfather Oliver Rein-
hart.
Recent visitors of Mr. and
Mrs. W ilfred Fohn were two
of their granddaughters,
Julie Fohn daughter of the
Nick Fohns of Uvalde and
LeAnne Fohn, daughter of
the Lou Fohns of Wall. Julie
accompanied her grand-
parents to Wall to take
LeAnne home.
Orlando Garda, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Roman Garcia was
also one of the FFA students
attending the state FFA
Convention in San Antonio
recently.
One of the D’Hanis
Couples’ Rook Clubs met last
Saturday evening at the
firehouse with John and
Rosemary Bendele as hosts.
Barbeque brisket and salads
were enjoyed for supper.
Tieing for first place in
games won were Sudsy Lutz
and Joe Langfeld and Pat
Wheeler and Joan Langfeld.
After a playoff the men came
out winners. Joe Wheeler
and Linda Arnold were
booby prize winners. Next
month’s hosts will be Sudsy
and Judy Lutz.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius
Schmidt accompanied by Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Kruse of San
Antonio and Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Weynand of Frede-
ricksburg spent Thursday
through Sunday visiting re-
latives in Umbarger. They
were the houseguests of Mr.
and Mrs. A.R. Friemel in
Umbarger but were joined
for a visit by Mr. and Mrs.
J.W. ODell of Amarillo and
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wilhelm
of Dalhart. Others they met
in Umbarger were Mr. Joe
Friemel, Gertrude Friemel'
and Mr. and Mrs. Siegfried
Boite. One of the highlights

turning home on Thursday
after visiting the Wheelers
for several days.
Jerry Raney, who is a
Lion’s Chib Zone officer
attended a district meeting
in Kerrville last weekend at
the Crippled Children’s
Camp. The weekend before
the Raneys were in Austin
where he attended the state
forum for district governors
and zone officers at the ’*
Hilton Hotel.
Mary McGraw of Fulton
visited her sister Jean
Weynand and family last
Monday. Other friends were
visited in Hondo and
D’Hanis during her weekend
stay. She also visited in
Beeville with the Pat
McGraw Jr. family
Recent visitors in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Carle were Mrs. Marjorie
Sutherland and her daugh-
ter Joel and her husband
Harry Rhodes of Carrizo
Springs.
On Saturday evening
David Finger and son, Kevin
and James Lutz of San
Antonio visited Mrs. Marie
Finger and together enjoyed
supper in Hondo.
Mrs. Aggie Knippa of San
Antonio spent Sunday in the
home of her sister, Mrs.
Marie Finger. At noon they
were joined by Mr. and Mrs.
Ferd Rock of Hondo. Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Knippa visited
enroute to Gamer State
Park. During the afternoon
Aggie and Marie and Lou
‘ visited their brother and -
unde, Louis Carle and wife
Alma. Louis had returned
home from the Medina
Memorial Hospital on Sun-
day afternoon after several
days spent there receiving
medical treatment.
Boys needing physicals
should meet at school at 6
p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Girls will meet at school at 7 »
p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4.

Natalia decided overwhelm-
ingly against consolidation of
the two towns schools.
Screwworm cases in Tex-

vertised Folger’s coffee at 69
cents a pound, Hunt’s catsup

The Milo-maize (Top in
Medina County hit 2,353,320
pounds - the best in years.
F.H. Hollmig, weigher at
Hondo Public Scales, re-
ported the good news. Maize
was bringing in as much as
$1.80 per 100 pounds in
those days.
A six-lane bowling alley
was announced to be open in
Hondo between October
1-15, in the former Tillotson
showroom building at 1214
18th Street. Manager and
owner of the new establish-
ment would be R.B. Thomp-
son.
A local modeling student,
Miss Ruthie Crow, 17-year-
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Horace Crow, was selected
as one of the entrants for the
8th annual Ben Shaw model-
ing Press Show. The show
was scheduled for July 25,
at the St. Anthony Hotel in
San Antonio.
