Mr. Alex Ray Thompson, of
Salem. Arkansas, and a former
resident of Devine, passed away Oct
1. 1985. in that city, at the age of 59
years old He was bom April 15.1926
in Devine.
Survivors include his wife. Alice
Thompson of Salem, Ark ; brother,
Johnny Reeves Thompson of Vic-
toria: and sister. Frands Holland of
Castroville.
Funeral services were held Thurs-
day. Oct. S. at 2 pm in the Harley
Chapel.
Interment followed in the Elver-
green Cemetery in Devine.

was bom June 10, 1902 in Idlewild.

Haass of Devine, sons, David Haass
of Devine, Leo Haass of Victoria,
Donald Haass of Devine, and
Lawrence Haass of San Antonio;
daughters, Mae Black and Linda
Lutz, both of San1 Antonio; brother,
Ralph Haass of Devine; sister, Alice
Schneider of Devine; 19 grandchil-
dren; and five great grandchildren.
Rosary was recited Wednesday,
Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s
Church
Mass was celebrated Thursday
morning at 10 o’clock in St. Joseph's
Church.
Interment followed in the St.
- Joseph’s Cemetery.

Mr. Frank J. Biry, of San Antonio
and formerly of Biry, passed away
Sept. 30,1985 in Hondo, at the age of
95 years.
Mr. Biry was bom Oct. 5, 1889 in
Medina County. He was a retired
sheet metal craftsman from Kelly Air
Force Base. He was also a member at
Zion Lutheran Church.

Catholic Church.

gets duties
Air Force Sgt. Michael L. Esquibel,
son of Amada Esquibel of Green Bay,
Wise., and Marcos D. Esquibel of
Devine, has arrived for duty at
Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.
Esquibel, an aircraft maintenance
crew chief with the Air Fort* Air
Defense Weapons Center, was pre-
viously assigned at K.I. Sawyer Air
Force Base, Mich.
IDA BETH A MOEHRING
Mfs Ida Betha Moehring of Hondo
died September 28, 1985, in the
Humana Hospital in San Antonio at
the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Moehring was born on
January 23, 1895, in the Leinweber
Settlement in upper Hondo. She was
baptized on April 15, 1895, in New
Fountain by Rev. C Czerkus and
confirmed in the Lutheran faith by
Rev. August Falkenburg on April 14,
1911, in Hondo. She married Edward
H Moehring on July 6, 1915, in
Hondo. She was an active member of
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo.
Mrs Moehring is preceded in death
by four brothers and four sisters.
