to perform in talent show
Radio personality, singer and
musician Ronnie Mason will be
one of six area artists to perform in
the San Antonio debut of Miracles
in Motion, a non-profit talent
program which will benefit the
''handicapable.'"
The contest, billed as the Special
Olympics of the Entertainment
World, will conduct its first San
Antonio contest at the Majestic
Performing Arts Center tomorrow,
Friday, Nov. 14.
Johnny Ricco, president and
founder of the unique program to
aid the handicapped, is striving to
showcase the talents of what he
calls "handicapable" people.
"Each of these people has special
talents and abilities. It is our
purpose to showcase these talents
and to encourage them to never stop
aiming for the stars," he said.
Six talents have been selected for
the Nov. 14 show in the areas of
music, comedy and dance. Each of
the handicapped performers will be-
accompanied on-stage by a local
professional entertainer.
Tickets for the Nov. 14 show are
now on sale at all Rainbow
Ticketmaster outlets and from
Ronnie Mason at Radio Station
KRME in Hondo, 426-3368.

picture. From left are Tommy Puckett, Clayton Puckett,

Biasing plans show at the Raye
By Frances Proctor
Hondo's Raye Theatre will be
branching into new areas of
entertainment and a former Hondo
girl will lead the way.
Leslie Biasing, a San Antonio
night club performer, is planning to
produce her own show at the theatre
for the citizens of Hondo.
Tenatively set for Friday, Nov.
21, the show will feature Leslie,
several San Antonio band members,
and a special guest performing
vocal numbers and dances.
Leslie will be backed by three
musicians, a keyboardist, drummer
and guitarist, all of whom are
singers. They have a Las Vegas-
type concert planned.
"We think this production will be
be fun," said Leslie. "We will be
doing our own show instead of
working for someone else."
Theatre owner Terry Anger-
miller wanted to try something
different to bring entertainment to
Hondo, so she contacted the singer.
Leslie was thrilled with the idea.
"1 am honored to be the first live
concert here," said Leslie. 'Tve
always wanted to perform in
Hondo, to bring something back to
the people who have encouraged
me."
Leslie is currently singing
Tuesday through Saturday nights at
Barcley's Piano Bar in San An-
tonio. She is also a cosmetologist
at Beall's.

Don't Mess With Texas
litterbags available
The state's tough-talking anti-
litter program has made litterbags
and bumper strips touting "Don’t
Mess with Texas" so popular that
the highway department has trouble
keeping them in stock.
Texans who missed getting a lit-
terbag or bumper strip will now
find them available free at all State
Department of Highways and Pub-
lic Transportation offices and Texas
Tourist Bureaus.
