EDITORIAL COMMENT... THE BARTLETT TRIBUNE
Friday March 16 195G
Hope You Paid Your Poll Tax! .
If you failed to pay your
poll tax this year you are go-
ing to wish you hadn't. Ifs
been a long time since there
has been so much interest in a
political race in Bartlett as is
ahead in the-city election April
8-
With the deadline for filing
past and all the candidates
known there are two seeking
tho office of mayor and six
necking the three places on the
dtv council.
In state elections there's the
Governors race the Lieutenant
Governor's race and the At-
torney General's race to create
interest. It's Presidential elec
tion year also. President Ei
senhower has announced that
he will run again and State
Republican Leader Jack Porter
says he will carry Texas again.
A lot of Texas Democrats say
he won't. Perhaps much de-
pends on who the Democrats
nominate to oppose him.
Hope you paid your poll tax.
