hit twice
For the second time in
two weekends, StraitEquip-
ment Co. in Hondo was brok-
en into. Someone pried a
padlock off a hasp last Sat-
urday night. Chief of Police
John.Gravell said, but own-
ers reported nothing w a s
missing.

A week ago Saturday,
Gravell said, someone en-
tered an unlocked restroom
and broke a hole through a
wall to enter the office. An
unsuccessful attempt was
made to open the firm's safe
with an acetylene torch.
However,some small change
was taken from a cadi draw-
er.
Mr. A. Minn was hon-
ored with an open house at
the home of his son and-
daughter-in-law, the Oran
Manns, in Castroville, Sun-
day, Dec. 29.
Sixty-five relatives and
friends attended the event
which marked Mr. Mann' s
80th birthday.
The honor guest’s great-
grandchildren, Nadine, Mar-
cy and Nathan Lutz were .in
charge of the guest book an^
assisted in serving refresh-
ments of sandwiches, cake,
punch and coffee.
Hosts were Mr. and Mrs.
Oran Mann, Frank Mann and
Mrs. Francis Lutz.
