Moos-Wilson vows recited
Sandra Gail Moos and
Dehnis David Wilson were
umted in marriage on Satur-
day, April 19, 1980 in the
First United Methodist
Church in Hondo. Rev. Bert
Clayton and Rev. Alton
Rudolph officiated at the
candlelight double-ring
ceremony. Joe Nixon, solo-
ist, accompanied by Mrs. Jan
Been provided the wedding
music.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moos of
Hondo. Parents of the groom
are Mr. and Mrs. Willard
Wilson of Yancey.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a
capsleeved gown of crisp
organza embroidered with
traditional laces. The empire
styled waist flowed into a
lace-trimmed skirt featuring
a pleated ruffle edge and
cathedral train. She chose to
wear the chapel-length veil
worn by her sister, Paula,
and designed by Mrs. John
Seifert.
Lynn Moos of Hondo was
Maid of Honor. Paula Lynch,
sister of the bride, of
Dayton, Ohio, served as
Matron of Honor. They wore
dresses of dusty pink poly-
ester knit and carried a
nosegay of spring flowers.
Flower girl was Lisa Hayter
of Castroville.
Attending as best man
was Jack Henley of Pearsall.
Groomsman was James
‘Tuffy” Acton. Shane
Wilson, son of the groom
was ringbearer. Ushers
were Garry Wilson, Larry
Wilson and Jeff Lynch.
Family and friends joined
the couple for a dinner-dance
at Quihi Gun Club. Shelly
Marty and Wendy Cart-
wright presided at the
bride’s book Mrs. Donald
Balzen, Lisa Lynch, Sue
Henke and Teresa Moos
served the cake and punch.
Champagne was served by
Cindy Mungia and Gisella
DeLaRosa of San Antonio.
After a wedding trip to
Laredo the couple resides in
Pearsall.
Parties and Showers
The lovely backyard of the
James Tondre residence in
San Antonio was the setting
for a Kitchen Shower and
Rice Bag Party honoring
Sandra and Dennis. Hostes-
ses for the occasion in addi-
tion to Mrs. Tondre included
Margaret Tondre, Pauline
Huegele, and Judy Marty.
Delicious refreshments of
almond ham log with assort-
ed crackers, nuts, cheese-
cake and punch were served
to the numerous guests.
A Personal Shower and
Bachelorette Party were
combined for an evening of
fun by Sandra’s friends. The
home of Mrs. Frank Graff
was enjoyed for this oc-
casion.
Sandra and Dennis were
honored with a Miscel-
laneous Shower in the home
of Mrs. John Seifert on
Sunday, April 13. Receiving
guest's with Mrs. Seifert and
Sandra were mothers, Mrs.
Bill Moos and Mrs. Willard
Wilson, and grandmothers,
Mrs. Henry Haby and Mrs.
Dallas Massey.
Cake, mints, and punch
were served by Denise
Woolls and Vicky Hayter.
Lynn Moos presided at the
guest register.
Sandra was presented a
vaccuum cleaner by the fol-
lowing hostesses: Mesdames
Glenn Bragg, Pat Brawner,
Roy Bohlen, Janie Campos,
Lewis Boehle, A. 0. Gilliam,
Ralph Gilliam, Ralph Graff,

Restaurant in Castroville fol-
lowing the wedding rehear-

George Haass Reunion

The George Haas Reunion
was held at the Hondo City
Park Sunday, July 6, 1980
Fifty-three descendents and
friends of the George Haas
family assembled for the
occasion in 100-degree
weather.
The A della Haas Heath
family were recognized for
having the greatest number
of family members present
with fourteen in attendance.
The Anna Haass Loessberg
and the Pauline Haass Bil-
hartz families, with each
having ten members
present, were next high in
attendance; Emma Haass
Graff and Phillip Haass each
had seven members Dresent
At 12:30 pm., after a
prayer of Thanksgiving for
the day’s blessings, a de
light ful covered-dish lunch
eon was thoroughly enjoyed
by the assembled group
Food and drink alike were
tasty and refreshing. Each
year it seems the ladies
prepare their own most |
famous recipes which makes l\
for a most delightful meal
The youngest member
present was three month-old
Kimberly Borgens Mr and
Mrs. Larry McDonald of
Dickerson, Texas, traveled
the greatest distance to the
reunion.
Those present were sad-
dened by 'the loss of four
members of the 1979 reunion
group Ruby Haas Garteiser
passed away June 14, 1979;
Arnold Haass, August 31,
1979; Nora Loessberg
Schoeffer, October 6, 1979
and Walter Muennink,
January 27, 1980.
Lois and Erwin Loessberg
of Castroville were hosts for
the 1980 reunion while for
the 1981 reunion Katie and
Clifford Schoeffer of San
Antonio will be in charge of
arrangements. The place
and date will lie announced
at a later date when inhu-
mation becomes available.

are investigating the death
of a San Antonio man who
apparently burned to death
in the cab of his truck July 4
The body of Benito
Jimenez, 39, was found
inside his trudi, which was
parked on the side of High-
way 90, near Loop 1604, at
