Horseshoe Pitching
Some of the fun things that will
take place Saturday- include the
Horseshoe Pitching Contest. Bobby
Poole is in charge of this popular
team event. Trophies for the winners
cost $5 per team.

John Karger
John Karger is a young falconer
who treats injured birds and then
trains them to perform in his “Birds
of Prey” performance. He will irive
two performances that day, both in
the main park.
Cowchip Tossing
The Cowchip Tossing contest will
be held in the chili cookoff area at
2:30 p.m. under the direction of Mrs.
Charles Neuman of the Texas
Women for Agriculture.
Armadillo Races
The Jackpot Armadillo Races will
hold forth at the chili cook area
beginning at 3:15 p.m. Bobby Ward
ana the Rodeo Association take
credit for this first time event. Entry
fee $5 per armadillo.

to us for public use by R.C. Bless of the
New Frontier Restaurant. They are a
nostalgic reminder that "once upon n
time” Medina County did support a
bona-fide county fair.

Corn Shucking
The Hondo World Champion Corn
Shucking contest will again give
everyone the opportunity to prove
“how they did it back then." Cham-
pions Cappy Heyen, Clyde Schuehle,
Hank Muennink and Jody Heyen
will be on hand to defend their titles.
Handsome trophies are waiting for
the winners.
Fiddler's Contest
The Devine Chamber of Commerce
will sponsor this Old Fiddler’s Con-
test and will have on hand Arnold
Griffin, Bill Gray and Bruce Roark
among others. It will be held from 2
to 4 p.m.

Hondo Country Squares
This group of square dance lovers
have been performing for many
years. They have been a popular
attraction at past Museum Days.
Dressed in their colorful red checked
attire they show that square, dancing
can be fun for young and old. Evelyn
Grell serves as president of the
group this year. Their caller is Bill
Franck.
