Raymond Parrish
James Kimbrell Helen Hankerd
LIVINGSTON -- Graveside serv-
ices for Raymond Parrish, 92, of
Livingston were held Monday, Dec.
28, 1998, from Center Grove
Cemetery in the Hortense commu-
nity, with Bro. Frank Hood officiat-
ing.
Mr. Parrish died Saturday, Dec.
26, in Livingston.
He was bom July 5, 1906 in
Hortense and had been employed as
a shipping clerk in the timber in-
dustry. On July 29, 1931 he mar-
ried the former Ethyl Smith, who
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter,
Sherry Gail Bower and husband
Harry of Palestine; sons, Kenneth
Parrish and wife Pamela of
Hortense, Jerry Lynn Parrish and
wife Mary of Livingston, and
Raymond Lloyd Parrish and wife
Patricia of Highlands; grandchil-
dren, Harold Bower, Randy Parrish,
Patti Raines, Todd Parrish, Shan-
non McKinley, Bryan Parrish,
Kerry Parrish and Wesley Parrish
Martin; great-grandchildren, Angel
Raines, Jake Bower, Luke Bower
and Christian Parrish Martin; and
brother, Shine Parrish of Hortense.
Cochran Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
Cecil Liles
LIVINGSTON - Funeral services
for Cecil Liles, 78, of Livingston
were held Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998,
from the First United Methodist
Church, with Dr. Don Willis and
Bro. James Frazier officiating. In-
terment followed in Houston Na-
tional Cemetery.
Mr. Liles died Friday, Dec. 25, in
Livingston.
He was bom March 16, 1920 in
Bell County, the son of William
Harry and Truda Barnes Liles. He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World
War II and worked as a letter carrier
for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Ola
Liles of Livingston, whom he mar-
ried on Feb. 20, 1948; son, Stanley
Liles and wife Lou of Point Blank;
daughter, Kathy Lawrence and hus-
band Dennis of Humble; sisters,
Lela Glazener of Seagoville, Marie
Hayden of Austin, Estelle Fisher of
Houston, Polly Waterhouse of San
Angelo and Zolly Jones of San
Saba; brother, William Liles of
Pasadena; granddaughter, Lisa
Hambrick and husband Chad of Liv-
ingston and Laura Dillon and hus-
band Jeff of College Station; grand-
sons, Drew Lawrence and Damon
Lawrence of Humble; grandchildren,
Lacy Liles, Justin Liles, Toshia
Byrd and Chris Byrd; great-
grandson, Andrew Hambrick; and
special friends, Bennie Glover and
B.C. Lively.

William Wilkerson Sr.
LIVINGSTON - Funeral services
for William B. Wilkerson Sr., 82,
of Livingston were held Saturday,
Dec. 26, 1998, from Central Bap-
tist Church, with Dr. Bill Skaar of-
ficiating. Interment followed in
Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Wilkerson died Thursday,
Dec. 24, in Memorial Medical Cen-
ter, Livingston.
He was bom Sept. 2, 1916 in
Winnsboro, the son of Wayne and
Annie Mae Hunlcy Wilkerson. He
attended the local schools in
Winnsboro and the Colfcgc of Mar-
shall in Marshall. It was there he
met his future wife, Nell Peebles of
Livingston. They were married on
Dec. 19, 1937 in Central Baptist
Church in Livingston. They resided
in Marshall until July (941, when
they and their son, W.B. Jr., moved
to Houston.
Mr. Wilkerson began work for
Duval Sulphur and Potash Com-
pany, later the Duval Corporation.
When the Duval Corporation was
taken over by Penzoil Company, he
became the financial vice president.
He held that position until his re-
tirement on Jan. 1, 1978, when lie
and Nell moved to Livingston.
Mr. Wilkerson was a member of
Central Baptist Church, where he
served as an usher. An avid golfer,
he was a charter member of llic
Rivcrbend Country Club in Sugar-
Land and Crown Colony Country
Club in Lufkin. He belonged to
Livingston Country Club, Mill
Creek Golf Course and the Heart of
East Texas Senior's Golf Associa-
tion. He played regularly until ill
health forced his retirement from
golf in the fall of 1997.
Survivors include his wife of 61
years, Nell Wilkerson of Living-
ston; sons, William Wilkerson Jr.
and wife Margaret Ann of Houston,
Wiley Wilkerson and wife Linda of
Kerrvillc and Wayne Wilkerson of
Houston; grandchildren, Doyle
Wilkerson of Austin, Andy Wilker-
son of Glade water, Sandy Wilker-
son of Plano and Aaron Wilkerson
of Kcrrville; stepgranddaughters,
Sabrina Seward of Seattle, Wash,
and Charissc McBride and husband
Loyd of Tomball; three step-great-
grandchildren, Shelby, Morgan and
Trey McBride of Tomball; one
brother, Jim Wilkerson and wife
Dorothy of Houston; brother-in-
law, Allen Peebles and wife Betty
of Livingston; sisters-in-law, Jean
Maxwell of Livingston, Ruth Pee-
bles of Livingston and Ann Cun-
ningham and husband Harold of
Waco; and many nieces, nephews
and golfing buddies in the East
Texas area.
His three sons and three grand-
sons served as pallbearers.
Cochran Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - A memorial
service for James D. Kimbrell, 68,
of Livingston will be held at 2
p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Un-
ion Springs, with the Rev. Ray
Shirley officiating.
Mr. Kimbrell died Monday, Dec.
28, in Livingston.
He was bom Nov. 25, 1930 in
Mississippi and was a veteran of
the U.S. Air Force. He retired from
the Air Force at the rank of major.
His hobby was gardening.
Survivors include his son, Daniel
Kimbrell of Livingston.

Katheryn Moye
LIVINGSTON - Funeral services
for Katheryn Ann Moye, 45, of
Moscow will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, from King-
dom Hall on Old Woodville Road,
with Bro. James Richter officiating.
Interment will follow in New Wen-
sley Cemetery, Leggett.
Mrs. Moye died Dec. 28 in Me-
morial Medical Center, Lufkin.
She was bom Aug. 28, 1953 in
Lufkin, the daughter of Willie
Stewart and Johnnie Mae Lee, and
attended school in Diboll and Leg-
gett. She was married on Oct. 16,
1970 in Lufkin and was a Jehovah
Witness.
Survivors include her husband,
Charles Moye; four daughters, Sue
Moye, Charlene Moye, Kim Moye
and Tarnish Miles; mother, Johnnie
Lee; father, Willie Stewart; grand-
children, Ora Moye and Christlyn
Osborne; 10 sisters, Joyce, Melva,
LaVem, Sharon, Shanna, Lydia,
Mary, Lee, Patricia and Cassandra;
six brothers, Troy, Marice, Kordel,
Eric, Nathaniel Jr. and Hansford;
and grandparents, Willie Mae axl
Johnny Perry; and aunt, Ella Mac
Davis.
Pallbearers will be Hansford Lee,
Eric Lee, Nathaniel Lee Jr., Perry
Lee, Cedric Punch and Clarence
Miles.

PASADENA -- A funeral mass
for Helen Hankerd, 70, was held
Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, from St.
Augustine Catholic Church, with
rite of committal following in
Grandview Memorial Park. A ro-
sary service was held Monday, Dec.
28, at the Earthman Gulf Chapel.
Mis. Hankerd died Saturday, Dec.
26.
Survivors include her husband of
46 years, Tom Hankerd; son, Mi-
chael Hankerd; daughters, Patricia
Hankerd, Katherine Turner and hus-
band Chris, Mary Boutwell and
husband Lin, and JoAnn McGlas-
son and husband Jack; nine grand-
children; two great-grandchildren;
brother, the Rev. Joseph Elzi; sis-
ter, Barbara Mullen and husband
Jack; and numerous other relatives
and friends.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services
for Leneta Vemolia West, 76, of
Onalaska were held Tuesday, Dec.
29, 1998, from the Pace Funeral
Home Chapel, with the Rev. Keefe
Cropper officiating. Interment fol-
lowed in Peebles Cemetery on FM
1988.
Mrs. West died Sunday, Dec. 27,
in Onalaska.
She was bom Nov. 30, 1922 in
Cushing, the daughter of James aid
Mae Ward Whitaker, both of whom
preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, John
Ragland Jr. of Austin, David Ra-
gland of Houston and Mark Ragland
of Houston; daughter-in-law, Kath-
leen Ragland of Austin; sister, El-
sie Mae Smith of Livingston; and
four grandchildren.
LIVINGSTON - Funeral services
for Karen G. "Kennedy" Calhoun,
79, of Livingston will be held at 2
p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998,
from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church,
with Father Jim Morgan officiat-
ing. Interment will follow in Camp
Ruby Cemetery.
Mrs. Calhoun died Monday, Dec.
28, in Katy.
She was bom June 14, 1919 in
Choctaw, Okla., the daughter of
Ameil and Amanda Spencer Bour-
lon. Mrs. Calhoun was a 30-year
member of St. Luke's Episcopal
Church and was also a member of
the Altar Guild Society. She was
preceded in death by her parents and
first husband, Willis Kennedy.
Survivors include her husband,
Thomas R. Calhoun; son, Ronald
Howell and wife Mary of Katy;
stepdaughter, Norma Pride and hus-
band Sparky of Luther, Okla.; sis-
ters, Florence Ballard of Shallow
Water and Mary Newton of Little-
field; granddaughter, Rhonda R.
Howell of Tulsa, Okla. and grand-
son, Stanley K. Howell of Ports-
mouth, Va.
